    Although you may not gain much wisdom from the stories, you'll at least gain an appreciation for the fact that your life is not a Lifetime movie.

    More like great water-cooler gossip than actual true-crime material, the self-deprecating humor helps but doesn't exactly distinguish the series from other examples of this genre.

    Ultimately, the network misses the point of its own franchise, spending too much time poking fun at its classic guilty pleasure instead of giving something that viewers of "Mom at Sixteen" really want--actual information.
