A really interesting show, with a very strong performance by Rami Malek. As a techie I really relate to the story, it really feels like an instant classic and it the production quality, GOSH! It will be very interesting to see where the show goes.

The show started out with good acting and a strong story. After that the story goes downhill and plotholes appear. It can still be entertaining to watch, but I just found the plot to be too unbelievable and frankly a bit naïve.

Outstanding and strong performance from Rami Malek. Brilliant and powerful story from Sam Esmail! I have never been hooked like that by a tv series. You can to a certain measure relate to Elliot but like him, you never know what will happen. Psychologically sick, this tv show deserves its Emmy's!

This show is one that will spark your mental fires and leave you questioning your own motivations in

My prediction for this series will either be that you love it or hate it, depending on your disposition to society. But one thing is certain and that being that this show will spark an intense emotional response
with relate able characters out of all walks of life. The show is not flawless as things in life seldom is, it does suffer from pacing issues between episodes yet considering the vast number of topics this show

Mr.Robot fills a well craved hole in a sea of bland one dimensional shows, yet after an satisfactory dose it leaves me craving for more!

By the time you're on episode four, the confusion somewhat kicks in. This is okay though, as each character is slowly becoming themselves in the show and synchronizing. I can tell how each character is going to intertwine for the most part - but Elliot is the main attraction. I believe there are people out there who are like him; snorting Morphine 30's and taking Suboxone so he doesn't withdraw - a computer genius and natural poet, and a complete sociopath who abuses his power over computers and the internet to understand the human condition and even himself. This show is well worth your time; I think even the older crowds (I'm 22) - so basically people who would be my parents, can learn something from this show. They can catch a glimpse of what we're all really like: Sociopathic internet nerds who tweet and text and share, passing information around this sterile country as if it's the very air we breath. This show captures the current zeitgeist, or overall spirit of the times - Elliot is just the extremity, of course. I give this show a 10/10 Expand

The reason it's popular is probably because of its tone which is effective, though blatant ripoff (the score alone is a total knockoff of Fincher/Reznor), at masquerading an outlandish story with over-the-top stereotype figures and entities that wouldn't pass muster with the comic book crowd much less serious drama. Evil Corp.? Is it a farce or to be taken seriously?
It can't be fully judged though since it constantly plays mind F games, and that aspect is actually great.
Slater is okay, but he never came close to the status of now being able to pull off self caricature. The not so appealing lead is like a young Willem Dafoe meets a frog. Well maybe that's the point. Maybe that's the times. So is the f--- profanity laced in and then dropped out in sound editing. You know what adolescents who think you're so clever? We don't need that, it actually takes you out of the story more because of the obvious non-diagetic disruption in dialogue. And what "most of us" by far do not need to see is graphic gay sex. You got a show made, congratulations. That doesn't mean you should then go pushing your depravity on the culture just because so many of you are drawn into that business and gain power.

I do not so much like the black-and-white moral universe, where the corporation is utterly and diabolically evil, and the hero (though tragically damaged) is utterly and angelically good. And making revenge for a dead father the hero's primary motive, while it works in "Hamlet," seems a little sentimental (and unnecessary) here. I'll let more knowledgeable reviewers assess the show's take on hacker culture except to say that its way-off-the-mark depiction of drug addiction and lock-picking does not inspire confidence. Rami Malek is kind of mesmerizing, though. Expand

An original TV show tackling important social topics. The main character portrays issues like depression and loneliness that are not talked about often on TV (and in real life?). Meanwhile the whole premise of the show is a commentary on modern problems - corporate corruption, income inequality, greed, etc. One of the only main characters that I can actually relate to in a way.

It's hard to believe this is a USA show. The cinematography and production quality are top notch. The subject matter might not be accessible to everyone, but for those of us who have been waiting for a show centered around modern technology without it falling into laughable "for dummies" level dialogue, it's pretty much perfect.

So to try and explain Mr Robot to your friends? It's a bit like a version of Hackers, where the writers constantly tease us with nods to Fight Club and The Matrix and Trainspotting. But then there's the Marxist philosophy aspect, and the modern dystopia angle, all set to obscure electronica and forgotten schmindie from the 80s. It is both like and unlike anything you will see on TV.

A strong plot with absurd twists, inventive and gorgeous cinematography, and a stellar cast mixing experienced and debutant actors, the only question is if the quality can be maintained.

Probably ranking as my most disappointing 'new' show of 2015. After what was an incredible first episode, where we're introduced to the character Elliot Alderson, a cyber-security worker at AllSafe, a company charged with maintaining the security of 'Evil Corp'.
Elliot is a high-functioning sociopath, suffering from depression, anxiety, and several other associative disorders for which he is taking prescribed (and unprescribed) medications.
He also moonlights as a hacker, his skills are presented as being unmatched and peerless and he's able to do some good by bringing bad people to justice using his abilities.
Things get complicated when he is approached by a man wearing a jacket bearing a patch with the logo 'Mr. Robot' who suggests that Evil Corp need to be taken down, and he needs Elliot's help to do it.

As each subsequent episode unfolds we're introduced to various other characters, most of whom are incredibly boring and who didn't elicit any sense of compassion from me. It was obvious that each one was designed (inside the narrative) to represent some part of Elliot's psyche, which is the fundamental crux of what the show hinges on.

As Elliot's past is gradually opened up to the viewer, the tone also begins to change, mirroring Elliot's state of mind, until at the end of the season we get the 'twist' that was so obvious I never believe anyone who says they didn't see it coming a mile off!

What destroyed the show for me was that the initial premise was so open and the character of Elliot was so interesting, that seeing the possibilities ever-narrowing as the season went on was actually more depressing than disappointing.
The show tries to be too clever for its own good, and whilst it probably makes for fascinating debate, it just ended up being narratively predictable, the fresh ideas being replaced with a sense of it all being seen before.

Fundamentally it ticks the right boxes for both critics and those who think such shows like this are highbrow entertainment. But, ultimately, what started off in a new and refreshing way, ended up becoming a 'paint by numbers' pastiche of ideas pilfered from other (and better) films/tv shows.

Pilot was awesome, downhill ever since. Most of the show has nothing to do with hacking. My only issue with the show is the lack of logic behind the fact that he buys drugs in person, instead of through the Darknet/Tor which he mentions on the show, yet never addresses why he, an addict hacker, doesn't buy drugs off of it. While I get the fact that it adds a meaningful relationship and plot line to the show, it doesn't make sense for him to not use something that is safer, more reliable, and completely inline with his profession and lifestyle.

I've now had a chance to watch the entire first season of Mr. Robot, and I have to say that despite the weird cyber-speak dialogue, I loved the way it created these bizarre strands of complexity and through the skillful manipulation of the screenplay along with great direction it managed to twist and turn those strands into a very impressive basket of intrigue and suspense. I hope to God Hollywood is taking notice of a legend being born right in front of us. Now that I've established the fact that the show is perfect, I need to point something out. All of the negative user reviews are referencing how offended the viewers are by the subject matter of the show. (S&M, gay sex, drug use, etc.) This is a testament to how stupid most people are and how USA is striving to get better content. We live in the Golden Age of Television and FX and AMC are dominating the basic cable programming. A&E released Bates Motel to keep up. History did Vikings. Now USA wants a piece of the action and they chose wisely. Now your typical USA viewer was expecting something "fun for the whole family" and terrible like Royal Pains, and what they got was Mr, Robot.
