[Mike Judge] mines storytelling gold from the people who grew up with and performed alongside a number of country music legends, resulting in a wholly engaging series that even non-country fans should love.

A reasonably fond look at some of country music’s most celebrated and talented self-destructive forces, most of them now dead.

Even--or especially--if you don’t get the humor in that last one, the country-music knowledge being arrayed before you in Tales From the Tour Bus is sure to both enlighten and entertain you.

Highly addictive, strangely thrilling little series. (Eight episodes are too few; may I have some more?) Fun's fun, but Judge does not forget the considerable art that makes these performers worth discussing in the first place.

At its core, Tales From the Tour Bus is a very simple show: Its primary objective is to honor these fascinating individuals by sharing their stories with a wider audience. That could’ve been done without the animation, but Judge, as a storyteller himself, maximizes his potential audience by infusing sly humor into every visual inch of the show.

Fantastic show, Mike Judge never disappoints and this may be his best yet. Funnier than Silicon Valley as original as Beavis and Butthead yetFantastic show, Mike Judge never disappoints and this may be his best yet. Funnier than Silicon Valley as original as Beavis and Butthead yet more poignant than King of the Hill, the creators found a way to appreciate the artist yet separate them from the flawed individuals they were. I am not a country music fan either but I found myself searching this music and think I just added songs I would never have found if not for this show. After 2 episodes I already need Mr Judge to add a second season. Full Review »
