Excellent cast and fun storyline. Tightly written. Skillfully directed and acted. Lots of good music. May be a little forced in spots. Still, the first episode is slick and well done.

Very good ensemble. Everyone fits together well. Northern Exposure with a blonde, but we've missed hell outta NE so it's good to see it.

I agree with a previous review that it is nice to see something on TV that isn't a CSI-NCIS-lawyer drama. Granted it is a bit cliche but enjoyable nevertheles. The music has been suprisingly fresh from some of my old favroties - nice to hear Steve Earle. I'll definitely recommend it to the girlfriends and sister.

So it's not original -- it's funny and seems to be intelligently written. I enjoyed both episodes even though I really don't like Anne Heche all that much. (I am so sick of blondes in the lead role.)

A lot of these negative reviewers just seem to detest Anne Heche, for whatever reason. But she's always been a bright talent, and I think the "Sex and the Country" wit of this show could make it fun and endearing.

I've watched the first several episodes and so far I love it--many scenes made me laugh out loud. The look on Anne Heche's face before she fell thru the ice in one scene was priceless. It's always good to try and watch a new show--are we going to watch Lost, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, etc. forever?? In addition, there is usually nothing to watch on a Fri. This show gives viewers a real break from violence and the news which is sadly reflected in todays entertainment of crime, pseudo reality shows, and medical representations. Qiuirky?-sure, fun?- yeah, will I continue to watch?...you bet. This show has only one place to go and that is UP! Everyone I know loves it and looks forward to real entertainment on Friday night.

I really enjoy this show. The characters have a lot of heart and usually make me smile and laugh which is very unusual for most of the shows on air now. I hope it won't be cancelled.

I really enjoyed this show and looked forward to watching it! I hope it will continue as a series next fall. When will we know if it is coming back? Last season I was a huge 'Invasion' fan and I feel that it was just left hanging with no real conclusion. I was very disappointed. I hope that I will not be disappointed again.

WIth the slim choices of good TV today I was surprisingly humored by Hiche. I will be watching the show again. I found myself telling others about some of the scenes in the pilot.

I had very low expectations because I'm not a fan of Heche, but was entertained and in fact found the writing to be crisp and clever. Yes, it borrows from the best and the shows influences are transparent, but the casting is well done and given time this is a show whose pace and sensibility there isn't enough of on the tube.

It's not the most original show in the world, but after seeing Heche's stint on Everwood, I knew she'd be worth watching in this rustic setting. The supporting characters will make this show, though. The "hostess", the bartender's ex-wife, the agent. They seem interesting. I realize that I too have fallen in love with Elmo, it's breathtaking landscape and it's down-to-earth warm-hearted support cast. That said, I haven't been able to watch one show without straining to reach through the rose-tinted screen and strangle that nasally, self-absorbed ding dong (Heche) mid pontification on the bloody obvious. Please let her be consumed by a dumpster bear.

This is a show that I will watch if there is nothing else I like better on. Thats not all bad though. The next step is to play with my computer. For those of you who look at Anne Heche as a comedian please stop. She is a good actress and very sexy. So she is the show and the writing is not great but maybe it will get better. I guess its the limitations of regular TV.

I've checked out the first two shows, and each time I couldn't get past the first main commercial break without turning it off or switching channels. Seems I'm reminded a lot of Northern Exposure, in a been-there-done-that sort of way. The Ann Heche character still couldn't get herself a pair of boots by the second episode? I generously gave this show a 1 because I like the male characters. The writers, however, have never been to Alaska. We don't have racoons, skunks, Indian reservations or busses to Vancouver (Where it is filmed)!

Please, no more Anne Heche. She is dry and never funny. The writing is cliche and tried. Don't insult our intelligence with a racoon that can steal a wedding dress. And why did she carry it around with her anyway???? Bad acting from Heche and poor writing equals cancellation. 17 of 20 women in my office agree it isn't worth the time.

Haaaaaated it. My wife and I were both looking forward to this show, and we were both so very dissapointed. Liked a lot of the actors from this show, but their characters were flat. Could this show have ripped off Nothern Exposure any more? And last but not least, Anne Heche is soooo unlikeable. We will be very suprised if this show last two more episodes.

Could Ane Heche be any more annoying playing the same twitchy anxious self absorbed twit over and over and over again in everything she has ever been in? This was painful to watch except for the good work of Suleka Mathew and John Amos. Maybe yhey could have the Marin character fall though the ice or something and save the show.

Anne Heche has a voice like nails on a blackboard, and her "I'm so cute so please look at me, look at me, LOOK AT ME' performance wears thin after ten minutes. The characters are caricatures, and the writing is thin.

Hello people!!! This show sucks!!! Ever see Northern Exposure! Can you can 'really bad copy' of a good idea!! The dialogue is so uninspired, so unoriginal, so taken straight from boring and predictable. This is insipid capitalistic opportunism at its height. I love the narration!
