Summary: Walter's business is in big trouble, and if he doesn't get $12,000 by next week he will have to file bankruptcy. Maude suggests that she mortgage the house to get the funds, but a stubborn Walter refuses to entertain the notion. However, she decides to go ahead and do it on the sly anyways and tries to get Arthur to say the money came from him.
