The droll Dhavernas is good enough, but Mary Kills People needs to be sharper and bolder to really slay. [21 Apr 2017, p.59]

It’s more interested in whether she gets away with [killing people]--the “B” story is about an undercover cop trying to catch the doctor in the act.

Mary's misadventures in the criminal underworld ultimately lack the thrills and moral complexity of better shows like Breaking Bad and Dexter. [17-30 Apr 2017, p.19]

The subject itself is important and complicated. it's not black or white.

This show is also very asthetic, and well done.

I have watched Season One and Two. This show reminds me a bit of Dexter but without the violence.
It has some of that tension and criminal element mixed in, with the feeling of justice and being right.
I really like the lead actress and the two male leads, her partner and the cop. I FF'ed through all her teenage daughter stuff. That did nothing for me and does not add to the show. They should drop the time they spend on that and add more of Mary and her cohorts. It seems like two shows, a show for teenagers, and then the actual show about Mary and what she does. I hope it gets a season three.
