    I love Finn Jones but my god this show sucked so hard. Terribly filmed action scenes, Painfully predictable plot and god awful acting by the cast. It's like they tried to merge Daredevil and Arrow and it failed to epicly. I love the character Iron Fist and this show did not do him justice at all. They need to end it now.

    Shows just how bad "critics" have gotten when personal politics is allowed to poison them from being able to do their jobs right by the consumer. Its not a perfect show but is by FAR better than the charlatans who call themselves critics gave it. Its only sin by them was casting a white person to play a white role. 8/10

    I find it strange that people who claim to be fans of the comic also comment on how true to the comic this show is... regardless the changes in the story are well done in my opinion. Henwick, Dawson, and Stroup played their roles really well, and at times carry the show. There was no gradient between the childlike idealist, the trained warrior, and the rage-filled man who never had a childhood... It was face-palm worthy at times. The fight scenes aren't realistic (depending on the attacker street fights follow a similar form), and the choreography (in the classical kung fu movie sense) is meh. Overall an OK show, and I think as a part of a team with more compelling characters Iron Fist will do just fine.… Expand

Though Daredevil is still the number one in my list, Iron Fist provides an interesting story, good performances and competent action scenes, with the advantage of not having endless and useless scenes just to fulfill the "13-episodes-deal".

    After watching the first four episodes I have to say the following. Don't let the critics dissuade you. The pacing is slower than Daredevil but not any slower than Luke Cage or Jessica Jones. The acting is also on par with those series. There's good commentary about social views of mental illness, vagrancy, a hard look at the 1% and how any sort of Outsider culture makes you seen as aAfter watching the first four episodes I have to say the following. Don't let the critics dissuade you. The pacing is slower than Daredevil but not any slower than Luke Cage or Jessica Jones. The acting is also on par with those series. There's good commentary about social views of mental illness, vagrancy, a hard look at the 1% and how any sort of Outsider culture makes you seen as a pariah. They also managed to give Danny a unique fighting style where he seems to flow around his opponents and doesn't take the beatings that Daredevil and the Punisher seem to take. Finn Jones does an admirable job capturing this mix of cultural naivety, zen wisdom and agitation after having grown up in an enlightened society and now being thrust into the materialistic and judgmental world of NYC. Perhaps the critics were expecting more punching and action from a show called Iron Fist, or perhaps they were still annoyed that the character is a "white savior" trope and wanted to play social justice warrior and see an Asian Actor cast in the role. Even though in so doing you'd greatly lose some of the themes prevalent in and its source material and just reinforce an already beaten to death stereotype that all Asians know martial arts.… Expand

It's made by people who have no respect for martial arts and no interest in martial arts movies. Someone attacks the hero with a baton swung overhand, and the hero blocks it by doing a flip and a shin-block. "You're throwing a punch, let me block you with some ballet." At every moment, the performers know where the next move is coming from and what it's going to be; the fight choreography would make zero sense if the fighters didn't already know what move was coming next. It's like watching six-year-olds at wushu practice, except clumsier and less intelligent.… Expand

    Marvel's Iron Fist is a great take on a classic, underrated Marvel superhero that has hardly seen the light of day. Despite what some critics say, the show works great with its action scenes and filling the gaps in between. To say that the martial arts scenes are lackluster is ridiculous, as this show is not aiming for Avengers-esque fight scenes.     The show is an excellent telling of the Iron Fist character. It takes a few episodes to for it to fully get going but once it does you'll be glad you stayed on for the ride. This show is just as good as the previous Marvel-Netflix shows, and does not deserve the biased reviews from the so called "critics" who neither understand the comic character or martial arts movies & TV shows.The show is an excellent telling of the Iron Fist character. At first I hated the fact Finn jones was cast as Danny rand/iron fist, but he does a decent hobby job in the role. The story moves along at a smooth pace like daredevil but doesn't feel long and drawn out like Jessica jones or Luke cage. Looking forward to Defenders later this year.     This show is fantastic, with all the negative reviews "Critics" provided everyone with, it tends to make you think how many of them actually aren't idiots. How do any of these websites justify paying someones salary when they are that wrong.

    Started off ok, the first few episodes, whilst a bit clunky seem to be leading somewhere. Around the 5th episode it suddenly descends into rote CW tweeny drama territory, with poor set pieces, badly shot action, and character development bottoms out all-together. Considering the rest of the Marvel/netflix offerings have a distinctly adult tilt, this sits more comfortably alongsideStarted off ok, the first few episodes, whilst a bit clunky seem to be leading somewhere. Considering the rest of the Marvel/netflix offerings have a distinctly adult tilt, this sits more comfortably alongside Something like Arrow or flash ( though not as well made ) It's a misshapen final piece to the defenders puzzle, and it'll be hard to see how it'll fit, unless Iron Fist is hopefully relegated to a supporting role.… Expand

    Iron Fist it's at the level of the other series. I loved it, I dont know why so much hate arround it. The critics are so stupid, and complain about him being white and blonde is as racist as complaining about a black guy. One thing is social justice, another is vengance upon the white people.

And he lived in K'un-Lun for 15 freaking years so he is allowed to be good at kung-fu or quote as much Buddhist quotes as he wants to!     TL;DR - Don't believe the critics. Give Iron Fist a chance, especially if you enjoy martial arts and/or Daredevil. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. It's not the best, but it's good and certainly better than what all these critics are saying.

    I couldn't disagree more with the negative critic reviews on this show. It's actually been quite good. I still think Daredevil and Jessica Jones is better, but Iron Fist is really enjoyable. I've read the criticisms and the biggest ones I've seen are that the pacing is bad, the storytelling is sloppy, the villains bland and the lead Finn Jones not being convincing. While I understand the last criticism, I disagree with ALL of them.
    I found the pacing to be fine, if not better than in Luke Cage (the first half was solid and the second half felt like it dragged in LC). The storytelling is fine. I don't agree with the notion it's a slow grind. Each scene builds layers into the story, from Danny's time in the hospital to his encounter with each "villain." I say "villain" in quotes by the way because Joy, Harold and Ward Meachum each have several layers. I find this no more impressive by the way than in Ward Meachum, portrayed by Tom Pelphrey. There is a depth to his character that the actor conveys with subtle facial expressions. I think one of the highlights of the show is Ward Meachum and the simmering resentment you understand his character feels with each episode. As for Finn Jones as Danny Rand. Some people have said he seems more like a frat boy who took a karate lesson. This is intentional. Danny is a well meaning rich boy who tows the line of two worlds, one with spirituality and black-white views on the notion of material wealth, and the other being the elite world in Manhattan. Danny is jovial in his martial arts. At first it seems awkward, until you understand his background. At one point he says he was "trained for an enemy that never came." He has never had to see the real fruits of his labor, the finish line of his training, his purpose. So he's very much a boy with all these abilities with no one to appreciate them, no one to say "WOW, that's why Iron Fist was trained." Not only that, but he spent his life in a monastery longing for a life he so violently lost. The character of Danny Rand is accurately portrayed here, and Finn Jones brings a tenderness that I find endearing. It's a good foil as well for the brooding conflict of Matt Murdock and trauma of Jessica Jones.
    One last thing, the combat. I've seen criticism of the fight scenes and while I do agree Daredevil's were better, I think Iron Fist's are quite good. From the trailers it looks like Danny Rand is just playing around. This is intentional. Those you see him fighting were never a threat. They were an exercise and he didn't exert himself. Keep watching. There's a great scene in the second episode where you realize "oh **** Danny Rand can hurt people." His kung-fu background is the explanation for his water-like movements, and it works.
    OH, and Jessica Henwick is amazing as Colleen. Her portrayal of a woman with a strict moral code that's slowly crumbling because of her growing displeasure with her circumstances is brilliantly portrayed. She brings such life to the character, and she's a badass.
    There are a few issues with the series. The fight scenes could use better camera angles, but they are still quite enjoyable and up to par from what you would expect. There is an awkward "get-to-know-you-scene" in episode 5 that shouldn't occur where it does, but the scenes that follow more than make up for it.    … Expand

    A compelling watch, with fun fight scenes. the first episode is a bit shaky. but half way season, and I can't put it down. Will update my opinion as I finish.

    This show is really good and fun to watch. what is wrong with all those critics? good acting, fun story and very entertaining a little big like arrow, but its very solid and not bad. have fun and watch it

    Form your opinion, don't trust critics. As there are similar elements from the previous Netflix marvel series, Iron fist is still very unique. Great casting and character development keeps the story intriguing. The story isn't explained in the first few episodes keeping you wanting to watch more.     After watching Iron Fist, I've come to the conclusion that many of the negative reviews for this series are due to the controversy surrounding the casting of Finn Jones as Danny Rand. Moral outrage from critics aside, the show is quite good. A little stiff at times. And the pacing is slow here and there. But Iron Fist is very enjoyable and a welcome addition to Marvel's Netflix lineup. B+

    Iron Fist is AWFUL. There are very few good things to say about this one. As a person who LOVED Daredevil and enjoyed Jessica Jones and (the first six episodes of) Luke Cage, I had pretty reasonable expectations, but this show couldn't manage to deliver on any of my expectations.

    First, Finn Jones is horrible as Iron Fist, and no, it's not because he's white (I've never really had too much of a problem with that). He seems confused, his acting is mediocre at best, and ironically, he literally looks like he doesn't know what to do with his hands (er, "fist"). The show is incredibly racially insensitive and doesn't exactly have the best portrayals of Asians.

    Rosario Dawson reprises her role as nurse Claire Temple, originally from Daredevil, and at this point, her character's sole purpose seems to be reminding us that these shows are linked together.

    One of the very few highlights of the show was Colleen Wing (portrayed by Jessica Henwick). She's actually pretty good. Her character is really the only well-written character in the series.

    The (few) fight scenes are incredibly dull and boring, and it shocks me to have to say this about a Marvel Studios property. They're unoriginal, underwhelming, and downright bad. The entire show is unoriginal and seems like a ripoff of every superhero movie ever.

    This show is frustrating on every level. Finn Jones' portrayal of Iron Fist is a disgrace to the character. I honestly hope that The Defenders can manage to be better than this.

    Great fight scenes, and good acting. It isn't slow paced, and it holds decently to the comics. I am very glad I didn't listen to the critics, which seem less and less reliable these days if their emotional desires aren't fufilled in a game, show or movie.

    Watched a few episodes of this so far, and if you like the comic, I believe you will like this. It really is quite good, much better than Jessica Jones. Critics are just too agenda motivated today, and only care about their emotional social justice injections. I'm glad they remained closer to the story and didn't bow to critics, it turned out much better this way.

After being initially apprehensive I really liked it, the actors are all good fits, the fights scenes are well choreographed and the effects aren't bad.     Good thing I dont listen to pro critics or I'd miss out on a decent show. Its no where near as bad as the "pros" are saying. Heres an idea, if you think you might be interested in something, then do it.

    I'm really enjoying this series. Great fights and awesome characters. The story of Danny Rand is very interesting, but Colleen and Joy are my favorite characters so far. Loving it.

    Coming into the Netflix marvel party last, Danny Rand aka Iron Fist is the more magical entry into the series, taking a page from Doctor Stranges playbook in establishing the idea of channeled inner engry and how it can be used to harness certain otherworldly attributes. Now Danny Rand as a person is complicated, down to earth in one moment and portrayed with extreme rage and hostility in the next moment and while the attitute of the character is by no means Jones fault, who has recieved major flak in reviews, some even using the actors skin color to enhance their level of criticism, i say that he does at fine job at what he does even if the writing is always on his side. At his side is colleen wing portrayed by Jessica Henwick who i find the writing is more favourable towards in giving her the memorable fight sequences at the start of the series and quickly establishing her into an independent character that is easy to watch and enjoy. On the other hand the supporting crew isnt all too interesting coming of as bland, hard to dicate and what is most key is overall boring to watch with characters such as Joy, Ward and Harold failing to create any means of character dynamic that actually benefits and improves the shows quality.

    While it may it not come close to kinging the proverbial top dog that is the remarkable first season of Daredevil, Iron fist give audiences two enjoyable lead that will leave audiences looking foward to seeing in The Defenders.    … Expand

    Unfortunately, the trouble with Iron Fist doesn’t end once you start actually watching the show, which like its character, is occasionally sweet, frequently maddening, and ultimately kind of lost in Marvel’s New York.
