Season 3 of Daredevil was very interesting to watch. But I though it was more about Fisk and the villains in general. Their story arc was expanded and rich while Daredevil was kind of an accessory. The fighting scenes were a mix bag. Some were good, some were a bit too generic. The actors, especially the villains were convincing and intense. I give it a solid 85%.

After Daredevil's 3rd season, I say it was the worst ever. It was weak in what had been most rescued from the first two: the fights. Although the story was consistent, I felt there was too much padding as the series progressed.

Putting Charlie Cox on a higher level, what I liked the most was the weight that Karen Page's character took minute by minute, it was a giant support to join all the subplots. Anyway, overall it's an interesting series, a 6 pulling 7 out of 10.

Daredevil rises to the occasion and shows why it's leading (or rather last surviving) the TV MCU and it's mainly because of its lead actors, Charlie Cox, who is so likable in his performance, that he brings a lot of effortless sympathy to the character, and especially Vincent D'Onofrio, who makes himself one of the best villains in the Marvel media properties as a whole. Kingpin is the center of this season as he is the reason this season is as good as it is. They also did a rather good job of introducing Bullseye into the universe. And yes, we're given another hallway fight this time, and it's one of the most innovative and thrilling fight choreography and cinematography on TV.

This doesn't deserve a perfect 10 like the rabid fanboys will give it as it does have its flaws; namely, the same problems plaguing all of the Netflix Marvel and what sunk Luke Cage and Iron Fist (and will probably sink Jessica Jones and The Punisher if it continues on that path) as far as boring and pointless side plots, characters, and drama that only serves to pad the plot like Karen Page and the FBI agent Nadeem. Foggy is a lot more bearable this season, but he still can be irritating at times.

But aside from that, it's nice to see that the writers of Daredevil get it in the way the Iron fist, Luke Cage, didn't, and Jessica Jones and The Punisher definitely need to in order to survive. It strikes the right balance of serious drama and comic bookness. It doesn't let the soap-opera-ish drama drag down the show and supersede the action. It has a strong, commanding villain, and most importantly, Daredevil doesn't waste the acting talents and chops of its cast. Luke Cage had Mahershala Ali and Alfre Woodard and wasted them. The Defenders had Sigourney Weaver and blew it. Iron Fist kept sidelining the great Colleen Wing in favor of the droll and boring Finn Jones. Daredevil has Vincent D'Onofrio, utilize him to the hilt, and as a result, we have a great TV show and a memorable villain.

Loved it. Watched it in just a couple days (would have been one day if I didn't have to go to work.) I normally don't care for the dark sort of superhero movies/shows or anything violent, but this show is just so well done. I really hope there's a season 4.

We already knew the talent of Cox seeing him act circles around the Defenders cast and hes back to bring a new and convincing edge to the title character.

    Matt Murdock – The Daredevil
There are not a lot of shows around that leave me feeling satisfied once I’ve watched the entire season. Daredevil came through in so many ways this time around. Let’s start with Matt Murdock. If you can recall at the end of The Defenders, we are lead to believe Matt finally ran out of luck. Matt is a troubled soul in season 2 all the way up to the end. At the close of season 2, an entire building falls on him, giving us the impression Matt is dead. That is, until the last scene, where we see him badly beaten and laying in a bed in his old church where he grew up. The dichotomy of Matt Murdock and Daredevil this season is exceptional. The writers in season 3 did a fantastic job of translating the emotion felt by Matt to the tv screen. The complexities Matt has to face in his dual life are played out incredibly well. The pressure points, the stresses, his friends, and the man he will become going forward all received level playing ground this time around. And all wrapped up in some muay thai boxing ropes spun around his fists.

Matt is not alone in that character maturation. Dex, Fisk, Foggy, and even Karen at times – all are given their fair share of growth and depth. I’ll get more into Karen’s character in a moment, but overall this season 3’s character development was fantastic; particularly when we see Dex and Fisk together. I won’t spoil anything, but the way the writers brought them together was a wonderful way to show how Fisk’s influence affected Dex.

    The Bad Guys
This was probably the best duo of bad guys yet. The brutal tactician of Fisk paired with the deviousness of Dex. This pair of baddies really have something going for them. There were times watching Fisk where I was literally wowed. I don’t think any other actor other than Vincent D’Onofrio could have played a better Kingpin. He is the best bad guy in the Netflix tv universe without a doubt. With additional layers of psychological depravity from Dex, it really made for formidable and believable bad guys. As I mentioned previously, the developmental depth of these characters really had me up for some late nights. I couldn’t stop watching. This brutal duo really make season 3 binge worthy.

    The Netflix Struggle
I don’t know if it’s like this with other originals on Netflix, but something that Luke Cage, Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones all have in common is that mid season drag. It always felt like there was one or two episodes too many packed in the middle of the season that didn’t do much for me. They are great filler, and I wouldn’t go as far as saying they’re not needed, but they are very close to that. It seems to happen every time there is some type of plot twist, and Daredevil had some good ones, but everything seems to ramp down a little. The pace slows as if to drag out the season for just a few more episodes. This is my only hang up for season 3. That and Karen Page.

She just doesn’t do it for me. I could never feel that much of a connection to her. It may be that actress Deborah Ann Woll plays the roll with too much anxiety, or it may be the way the writers want her portrayed? She has been through a lot. But, I found myself wanting her to be a little bit more of a strong character. Not as anxious, and a little tougher from growing through her life experiences. Her back story is important, but I found myself wondering if this was being told only to set us up for future Daredevil seasons? It was interesting, but in the end I just wanted more from her character.

    Final Score
Overall this was probably the best season of Daredevil. The plot twists, the action, the compelling characters. I absolutely loved this season. I have to give Daredevil a 9.5 out of 10. Other than the mentioned Netflix episodes that seemed to drag out the season, and not really connecting with Karen, this season is the best Daredevil yet. I can’t wait to see where we go from here.

This season has some entertaining moments and is, on the whole, satisfying.
The fight scenes have definitely improved from the too dark shaky cam of season 1.
The episodes are still slow and bloated, but it is Netflix. That is to be expected. We also get more endless brooding. The writers no doubt think they are writing for Naruto because every character that wanders into the frame

Fisk, as portrayed here, is still one of the most boring villains in any superhero series to date. I have no idea what the love is for him.
Worst of all, this season also contains the 'wrongly accused' plot line. One of the laziest and biggest cliches available. It is always a sure sign that the writers have run out of ideas.
Fortunately, the series has been cancelled before Matt gets amnesia from a blow to the head. That was next in season 4. I guarantee it.

The third season of Marvel's Daredevil is the strongest of the series to this point. It forgoes the supernatural affectations of season 2, and betters the original season by quite a bit. The tension and drama were consistently strong and satisfying. Second, if only by a little, is the ongoing interaction between Murdock, Foggy and Karen. There is an incredible episode, "Karen", that gives you a full backstory on the hidden secrets of her life. And third...well, I won't say, because it is a stunning reveal in this season.
It's amazing how much high quality drama in cinema and on television comes from a comics outfit. Marvel has proven the validity of its storytelling chops over and over again.
One last thing: kudos to the fight choreographer and cinematographer for the long single-take fight scene that takes place inside the prison early on in Season 3. Anything "Atomic Blonde" can do, "Daredevil" can do better.

However, as an avid comic book fan who is very familiar with the source material and characters, it just doesn't get much better than this. Daredevil Season Three manages to take the beloved and acclaimed "Born Again" storyline from the pages to the screen, along with enough twists to the narrative that it becomes original enough to enjoy for both comic book and casual fans. The acting is Emmy-worthy from most of the main cast, especially Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk and Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock. The fight scenes are easily the best in the Marvel Netflix Universe, and the narrative's pacing never really feels slow or trodding like in previous series (Luke Cage and Jessica Jones sophomore seasons were terrible at basic storytelling). Several new characters enter the fray, but Bullseye is the obvious standout. I liked how they managed to reinvent his origin story while keeping in many of the original aspects (like the baseball angle). Bullseye truly does fit in as a great supervillain, really upping the ante for Daredevil. Oh, and did I mention how awesome the fight scenes are? Netflix has been stumbling with shows like the recently cancelled Iron Fist, but Daredevil proves that it's king of the hill for the Marvel Cinematic (TV) Universe, with The Punisher and Hulu's The Runaways a few steps behind. Giving this season anything less than a perfect score would be a crime in itself, as this must-watch binge-worthy show truly soars to new heights, and makes it that much harder to wait for the inevitable fourth season. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is a strange season, it has some of the best moments of the marvel series as well as some of the worst.
Charlie Cox does as always a good job portraying Daredevil, and as such I have nothing negative to say about him. The same can be said about the cast over all, there is just some part of the writing that is painfully bad.
The Season starts strong, it tells what it wants to tell well.
Problems do however starts to show up around episode 5-6, things take a turn into WFT country faster then you can say the thing. The plot and characters are forcibly twisted to fit whatever it is the writers are attempting to tell. There are more things that makes no sense then there are things that do.
The bad culminates in episode 10, here we get a 29-30 min long flashback story that is so bad. The writing, the acting, the entire premises of this flashback is horribly bad, it makes no sense and fills no purpose in the main story. While I do not hate the character that is the center of this flashback, neither do I care for their background story and even if I did I would still find this bad to the point of me liking the character less. This is a 13 episode season so taking up 2/3 of an episode is a giant waste.
While the building up to the end is far from what I would have liked it to be the ending in it self is actually good. And this is what makes this season so strange, it starts in a good place and ends in a good place with a middle that is among the worse of these marvel series.

What this season highlights is something Luke Cage does as well, that while Netflix manages to get great and fitting persons to play these two characters they equally fail to make seasons that make them shine. This was a missed opportunity to say the least.

All of them, yes Daredevil included, have special ablilities but still consistantly get bested by mostly ordinary people or just simple stupid cops and FBI people that are running 15 minutes behind a mass murder. Daredevil is so much weaker on screen than he is in the comics as Netflix and the tv stations do with all Marvel characters. This is just my opinion. Expand

It started off strong but the final episodes were big disappointments to me and I wasn't really satisfied with the way it ended. I like that Foggy and Karen had a much bigger role in this season and Bullseye was a welcomed addition but that was about it.

This season for me wasn't as spectacular as I expected but that has more to do with my expectations than with the quality of the series.

If there is something this season came to reinforce and prove once again, is that Daredevil is a show that plays in a very different arena from the other Netflix and Marvel productions.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Whoever says this is a return to form for the Netflix Marvel series is either paid off or just delusional at this stage. I was a massive fan of Season 1 and highly recommended to all my friends and I thought season 2 was fine despite its clear obvious flaws. From S2 onwards, the Netflix series has gone suddenly downhill with lack of quality, imagination and execution. All of these shows became generic and bland that will not stand the test of time (apart from maybe season 1 of DD) compared with actual great shows like Breaking Bad, Deadwood etc.

Where to begin how bad it has become? First, 2/3 of this season is just straight up filler and waste of time plot. Apart from strong acting from D'nofrio and Charlie Cox, the show has a mediocre plotline with inconsistent focus and just boring things all long. I mean literally, the whole season is on Fisk being holed up and with a convoluted (and extremely boring) ways of different characters doing different mundane things. I mean literally 4/5 of Murdock time is talking with a nun in this series, whilst the two previous side characters of Foggy and Karen do their own stupid thing whilst never really having meaningful interactions with Murdoch. Bullseyes origin and arc is by far the best developed and kinda worht watching but sadly this is drowned out by the whole mediocre nature of the show.

We spend a lot of time on this stupid FBI agent, where the FBI gets corrupt but they pretend illogically that they can trust Fisk etc -when clearly from season 1 we knew how powerful he was. None of it makes any sense, none of the ideas are developed much - like Fisk was going to use Bullseye as Daredevil as a scapegoat to bad name Daredevil, but that doesnt really happen much throughout the series except for him going around killing journalists earlier on. At one point, the FBI detective who is handler for Fisk, gets shot, but he just walks around fine after that and woah stupid plot twist, turns out the FBI and stuff is corrupt - who would ever imagine that wow. Yes, characters are this naive in this season despite what clearly happend previously. Talking about plot twist, there is a stupid one around episode 9 where it turns out the nun caring for Matt is actually his mother. This comes out of literally nowhere for the sake of making drama. It stupid, and is contrived and makes everyone idiots. Also everyone seems to know about Matt identity and he goes around kicking ass in the daylight despite presumably dead.

The writing is terrible, the action scenes are scarce and its so illogical at this point, I literally skip scenes to get to the good stuff. Like there is this scene where Karen goes to confront Fisk in the hotel and she thinks its a good idea to trigger Fisk to kill her so somehow it will be captured by cameras - despite a) that is a stupid idea, b) Fisk can easily walk off given the FBI corrupt (why is she so stupid to trust that c) she says she is the most dangerous character because she killed that side character in s1 and then the very next scene for her, she says she is running away hahahahah. Its so terrible. Deborah Ann Woll is also a terrible actress in s3, with the same fkin look on her face in every scene and annoying tone. No wonder she never gets any other acting jobs (same goes for Foggy who is terrible and a waste of time now).

There is also a lack of continuity from the rest of other seasons, like the Hand, Marvel stuff. At this stage, it should just be called Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk the Tv series. The show has nothing to do with Marvel and its so terrible and bland, it makes the fking DC and CW stuff actually seem interesting. The budget also seems so cheap this season, and it makes no king sense why Matt doesnt wear the costume for most of the season. WE are only given the dumb reason he buried the idea of it. But what was that idea? What idea from the Defenders was bad about the costume? He literally forgets about Elektra once the season starts kicking on, and honestly the armour and stealth would make so much difference.

Honestly, this is the longest I've written because this is how terrible the tv series and universe has become. Its such a shame because s1 de Knight version of DD was actually interesting and going somewhere. I don't know why people are so obsessed with defending this garbage when we clearly know their writers, directors and producers are all D rated workers who dont have a single ounce of creativity and actual competence on what they are doing. It is incredibly sad this standard of literal **** writing and directing is considered a "back to form". No its not, anyone blind can see how bad it has become. This will be the last Marvel Netflix Tv show i ever watch ( I didnt even bother with seasons 2 of Iron Fist, Luke Cage or Jessica Jones) given how terrible defenders was.

The marvel netflix shows are over. Its not dumping content, no quality whatsoever.

At the same time, Wilson Fisk, the kingpin, is persuading the FBI to act in his benefit and building a way more stronger empire than ever, while that he meets the agent poindexter, a very skilled man that not seems that can miss any shot or anything that he can throw.

I really enjoyed to see in this season a much more damaged Matt Murdock, where he awakes the situation of his body is sad, how he can't hear properly anymore or how his body is so weak, and little by little he starts to get on shape once again. I really liked how he decides to go to missions not as Daredevil and try to get information talking to people, and how much struggle he gets by that, it was good. The Kingpin's plan it is probably the better thing in this show, it is so great and scary, you totally believe that he does have control of everything and in most moments it makes sense, it is understandable how he did, how long did he planned all of that stuff and, again, it makes sense wich was very important, how he manipulated everthing with some happenings or some money, he can control everyone and coerce in his good. The story overall is good, but there are some holes, some moments where things didn't made much sense, there moments where the story just don't advance, there some boring and moments where i just didn't cared about what was happening, one of the reasons for this problem is the necessity to make 13 episodes, it is way to many, there was no necessity to make that many, it would be better with 8 maybe.

The Agent Poindexter, AKA Bullseye, is a damn great addiction for this story, the whole build up for him was amazing and nearly perfect. First we see a little bit of his skills as an agent with a gun, wich are dope, the action at the very begin was dope. The whole development of how sick Poindexter is in his mind is great, the episode where Fisk hear the tapes is very creative, you got to know the situation in a fun and very dark way together with Wilson. You believe in how he got manipulated and totally see how fearless he is, how insane, the sound that you can hear in his mind is another great point, it helps on giving him the uncomfortable that he feels, so as the pain in his head.
The acting of Wilson Bethel is really good, he could pass the necessary aspects to the character, some little smiles, having fun and very convincing in his mental illness, in his suffering and in his lost situation.

Karen Page character really doesn't have much to do in this season, her character could have been better used, they do created another arc for her, with single episodes only to develop and create flashbacks to her, and when it was happening i though that something big would happen to her character to compensate, but actually it didn't, and i do like Karen, but i think that she was misused in this season, althouhg that Deborah Ann Woll did a good job.

The action is hella fun, so as in other seasons, there is one long take fight for this one that it is so damn fun and so damn well made, the police station whole sequence is one of the bests from the whole season, if not the best in general, you got Fisk working under radar and figuring things out, you got Matt getting cornered all the time, and some really dope moves and struggling as we are usual from Murdock, that whole sequence was amazing. The action with Bullseye, now that is amazing, everything that he can do is so fun to watch, it is different and creative how they made it, that is one of the most dangerous one on one people to get, because he can literally kill you with anything that may be in his hand from a distance, and he do that all the time and it is so fun to watch.

It is quite clear at this point that Marvel Studios is reigning king among all film conglomerates and this is not only due to their marvelous cinematic universe, but also due to their understanding of trans-media storytelling – telling a story across multiple mediums.

After collaborating with Netflix to bring fans a new take on Daredevil, the man without fear, Marvel then expanded to produce JESSICA JONES, LUKE CAGE, and IRON FIST – though the latter two recently got the axe – and built their own shared universe by bringing all four heroes together in Netflix’s THE DEFENDERS.

The one that began it all, however, has not had the smoothest of runs due to its second season’s narrative struggling to handle all the players within the storyline.

Yet, last week saw the release of Daredevil’s third season – and what a spectacularly powerful and resonant season it was.

Though many claimed that the season started off slow, it is exactly this pacing that made the hero’s first entry so poignant – it took its time to set the board, and the pieces before unleashing havoc upon the city of New York from all sides.

Season 3 plays like a political conspiracy thriller more than it does a tale of heroes and villains, and this echoes another majorly successful and much-loved Marvel Studios production, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, though DAREDEVIL is bloodier and much darker.

The macro story arc deals with the release of Season 1 villain Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, from prison after he begins to collaborate with the FBI to takedown New York City’s underground criminal families, and the repercussions that occur due to this.

Nothing is what as it seems as a much deeper conspiracy takes shape across the thirteen-episode season.

The micro story arc deals with redemption, as a lost and broken Matt Murdoch faces his inner demons, almost literally in some cases, like he never has before as he realizes and fully becomes the man without fear.

Herein lies the true strength of the writing team as they shifted focus from the spectacle of Season 2 back to the reason why Season 1 was so powerful: the characters.

Season 3 saw a great deal of Matt Murdoch’s cluster and they were as strong as the protagonist himself.

Foggy Nelson’s arc has his never-faltering faith in the legal system is put to the test and challenged at every corner until the noose is tightened and Nelson’s family becomes a target.

Karen Page’s past sins come back to haunt her and her character’s intentions become clearer and more relatable as her drive to redeem herself reaches its climax.

Father Lantom and Sister Maggie also come center stage here as they both are catalysts in a discovery that Matt makes towards the season’s midpoint that derails him from his path.

Yet, the heroes are not the only characters that are given a spotlight.

Wilson Fisk, much like his first appearance, is given much screen time and it is an utmost delight due to the character’s delicious complexities and philosophical views on life. He is not a typical villain and this makes him all the more intriguing as a character.

The season’s antagonist is Special Agent Ben Poindexter, aka “Dex”, whose sharp-eye and uncanny marksmanship become a danger to Matt and his friends when he is manipulated by Wilson Fisk into becoming his hitman. Dex is given almost an entire episode where his backstory is told and the writers hit their target during those moments.

Speaking of the writers, it was quite refreshing to watch thirteen hours of television where the screenwriting is fearless.

From using the story of Job, to emphasizing themes of forgiveness, prayer, and finding one’s way after being lost, this season of DAREDEVIL was beyond biblical and this was a major strength.

Visually, this season was absolutely stunning: from all the beautiful lighting within the cathedral, to the epically intense ten-minute long take inside the prison, there was no holding back at all from all parties involved.

The fight choreography was on par as well.

Both Daredevil and Poindexter had their own fighting style and tactic which keeps the audience on their toes during the fight sequences due to the fact that it was both a test of physical and strategic strength.

This particular element, the balance between external and internal, is why Daredevil Season 3 is so formidable not just as a super hero series, but as a conspiracy thriller.

Merging the super hero genre with other genres has been a stylistic choice that Marvel Studios has been doing since CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, and is the reason why that even after twenty-two films the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the strongest it has ever been.

La construcción de la trama y la narrativa es interesante, en base más a tramas policiales y demás, pero quizás me falta un poco de Daredevil, y del traje.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. DD season 3 comes back strong and reaches the heights set by season 1. Everything that worked about the first two seasons is back and better than ever, which is immeasurably bolstered by Fisk’s return. Fisk is back in his former glory and truly shows us how powerful, influential, and intimidating he can be in this season and that he is a worthy adversary to Murdock who has a lot of tricks up his sleeve. What this season does that the previous two didn’t do is focus a lot more on the supporting cast. Multiple supporting members get backstories that they normally wouldn’t get and these backstories enrich the season and give it depth without making it complicated since they are worked pretty well into the main storyline. We don’t have multiple plotlines going on here, just one plot with a lot going on in it which makes the season a lot easier to follow. The end of the season leaves opportunities for more stories, some of which unfortunately we may never get to see due to Netflix’s cancellation of the show after season 3. I’d love to see these characters reappear in the MCU at some point in the movies or TV shows since these are really cool and interesting characters who are played by great actors and they deserve to have more screen time. My only criticism of this season is that it starts out with very slow pacing, so you have to push through a bit to get to the exciting parts. When you do, though, the action and excitement are back in full. DD season 3 rebounds nicely from season 2 and takes us back to season 1 while giving us some interesting and engaging structural differences. Expand
