There’s a lot to dislike about these Little Women, not least the acting. Angela Lansbury as Aunt March and Michael Gambon as Mr. Laurence provide some sparks; Jonah Hauer-King as Laurie is perfectly fine. But Ms. Hawke in particular is overly earnest, never mind obvious. ... Emotionally, this Little Women is as thin as the pond ice that Amy falls through, or Beth’s chances of making it to the next pledge break.

Saccharine silliness. An insult to a great book and to those who cherish it.

This series was a waste of time. The acting was okay the production values were the only thing that allowed me to rate it a 3. Amy was a kidThis series was a waste of time. The acting was okay the production values were the only thing that allowed me to rate it a 3. Amy was a kid that should have grown up but she didn't. Instead they had a grown woman play her all the way through. I also thought that many of the things that made the girls different were not emphasized enough. They all seemed to be the same person with no real differences at all. Most of the important events were not well expressed or were omitted entirely. So yes, this series was a complete fail and I do not recommend it. Full Review »
