Summary: A suicidal man drives across a railway line, causes a fatal train crash, although he survives. His defence barrister, Kate Barker, argues that he is not culpable by reason of mental illness. When the defendant is found dead in his cell, DS Casey is implicated. Henry Sharpe decides to recruit Kate to the CPS.
