    Camp Cretaceous delivers almost everything you could want from a family-friendly dino adventure. Tightly scripted with smart characters, Netflix’s animated Jurassic adventure checks all the right boxes. Best of all, it has a knack for capturing the wonders and horrors that make dinosaurs such a perennial favorite.

    Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous so far seems more appealing to tween audiences, who won’t mind too much if it coasts on franchise fumes. Maybe it’ll reach its potential after another episode or two.

    Camp Cretaceous is mildly diverting. There are pleasing videogame-like simulations of more complex movie-style dinosaurs, including the token cute-dino baby ankylosaurus and the carnotaurus that becomes the group’s default nemesis.
