The voice cast falls deeper into their familiar roles, and the results are excellent once more. I have some minor quibbles here and there, but this is still the best superhero show on TV for my money, and I can't wait to watch the final two episodes now.

Invincible continues to tell very human stories about Mark and the superheroes of the GDA, highlighting the main storylines of the season while keeping other stories cooking with a very good cast of celebrity voices.

Even if the shape of the story arc isn't quite as clear as the previous seasons, you'll still be hyped to see where things are heading.

Invincible Season 3 proves to be another super-strong installment of Prime Video's stellar animated series. Co-showrunners Robert Kirkman and Simon Racioppa are consistently able to find new ways to shock the audience while keeping them drawn into Mark's story.

The writing, and the performances, are all top-notch—Yeun and co-star Gillian Jacobs, for instance, continue to have great chemistry as potential love connectors Mark and Eve—but there’s a stiffness in both action and drama scenes that leave the whole thing feeling cheaper than the show’s previous two seasons.

Invincible’s third season premiere continues to make the series’ gory violence feel weightless, but it’s an enjoyable reintroduction to the characters, and establishes all the ethical dilemmas we can expect from them this year.

With a disappointing lack of development in key story arcs, the third season feels like a frustrating adventure so far despite the promising start.
