We’ve got all the classic, multi-cam situation comedy ingredients here, starting with the likable Pete Holmes (HBO’s “Crashing”), who looks like a 6-foot-6 stuffed animal come to life, playing the low-key and non-confrontational but good-hearted Tom.
-
How We Roll is almost insistently lacking in any kind of edginess, which means there’s also not much about it to separate it from the seemingly endless array of comedy options airing right now. ... At the same time, How We Roll‘s total lack of interest in controversy or commentary makes it easy to watch, maybe even soothing.
-
The writing and plotting by series creator Mark Gross (“Man with a Plan”) is as pedestrian as one would fear going into this bland multi-cam sitcom.
-
Nothing stands out as especially grievous, because nothing about it is daring at all. To call it a gutter ball would suggest that the writers had tried something big and missed: What “How We Roll” brings to mind, instead, is risk-free bumper bowling.
-
As much as we like Holmes and everyone on How We Roll, we don’t see any signs that the show is going to get funnier, despite the warmth we saw in the pilot.

Apr 15, 2022The only good thing about this show is that it has employed some actors and a crew.
How long they are employed for is looking shaky...
