A trio of writers from VEEP (Clea DuVall, Jennifer Crittenden, Gabrielle Allan) created this series featuring a group of anthropomorphic animals, led by a therapy dog (Lisa Kudrow). The writing is crisp and smart, while the performances add an extra layer of humor. Only the first episode has aired, but the lively comic energy and wacky quality holds plenty of promise.… Expand

Pleasant Surprise

Despite the occasional unfunny joke here and there, HouseBroken still has way more positive than negative qualities about it with Likeable characters, Generally strong humor, A terrific cast, and a fun premise.

Ep 1: First impressions are everything, and believe me, Housebroken fails in nearly every category imaginable.

From awful humor that feels like it’s written by out of touch millennials to inconsistent and-in-your face characters, pathetic pop culture inserts and a plot that goes nowhere, this first episode does not leave a good impression. Obviously, animated series more often than not begin ruff, but the future does not look bright in this instance.

For the love of god stop lewding the dogs, it’s not even good. 2/10… Expand

Given that the cast is STACKED with comedy heavyweights, you kind of have to blame the writing for the fact that this show is so mercilessly unfunny and dull. It's over 50% unsuccessful potty humor and 100% low-effort garbage.
