Summary: Mel Wax heads up Hopeless Pictures, an indie movie studio named in honor of his deceased parents, Hope and Les. Mel struggles to keep the studio afloat while chaos abounds. Not only does poor Mel have to deal with neurotic pill-popping Swedish directors and vainglorious stars, but he has his rancorous soon-to-be ex-wife and moronicMel Wax heads up Hopeless Pictures, an indie movie studio named in honor of his deceased parents, Hope and Les. Mel struggles to keep the studio afloat while chaos abounds. Not only does poor Mel have to deal with neurotic pill-popping Swedish directors and vainglorious stars, but he has his rancorous soon-to-be ex-wife and moronic nephew, who also happens to be head of production, to cope with.

“Hopeless Pictures”, an animated comedy, stars Micheal McKean as Mel Wax. Lisa Kudrow plays the vengeful almost ex-wife. Jennifer Coolidge plays Traci Minx, Pictures' head of development, as well as actress Nina Boroslova. Jonathan Katz is cast as Dr. Stein, and inept psychiatrist, and Bob Balaban plays the idiot nephew/head of production.

Look for appearances from real Hollywood players, like Nora Ephron, Rob Reiner, and Isaac Mizrahi.
