The 3rd series of Heroes was probably the 2nd best overall with the return of the twist and turns that had excited viewers during the 1st run. I'm not sure splitting the series up was a great idea but I think that critics and viewers alike were far to critical of it after its unfortunate writers guild incident. A shame,a real shame.

Now it feels like the writers have completely forgotten the backstory of each of these characters -- completely forgetting that yes, other things have happened. The characters have all turned 180 degrees several times just for shock value. Sylar is an excellent example. I'm sick of this "He's good!" "No, he's bad!", "No he's good", "No, really, he's bad!" nonsense. Typically I do like the moral ambiguity presented when you have a good character doing something shady or a shady character doing something good, but the character is so 2-D, flipping his loyalties around so quickly is ineffective at best and terrible writing at worst. One could say the same thing for the rest of the crew -- HRG, Mohinder, Peter, Nathan, Tracy, Mama Petrelli. Terrible writing this season. I'm very disappointed. Expand

I thought the first half of the third season (Villains) was the worst this show has ever offered, but that the second half (Fugitives) was one of the best. Watch the second half.

The third season is a textbook definition of "Jumping the shark". Either the writers don't care or they're just negligent. Way too much is happening way too quickly and things are changing way to drastically for the show to be meaningful or interesting anymore.

The anticipation for the third installment has been high. Except it has been so long since the season two finale it's challenging to remember everything that is going on. So far, I personally believe that Season 3 has lived up to Heroes hype. The primary focus being the Villians gives a different change of secenery and let's Kring dive deeper into his dark creative mind.

There are SO many characters running around (all of them up to something that's generally mysterious) that the show is becoming really convoluted. Cut the cast in half, throw in a bit of humor, and the show will be back on track.

Great start to the season. One may see that this season is heading in a great direction. Great so far, the premier may have been awkward and confusing, but it was only created to have people try to fill in the blanks themselves, brainstorm a little bit. Heroes took the once predictable but crazy climaxes into a mysterious darkness that needs to be resolved through a series of unfortunate events.

I am loving season three so far. I'm a superhero uber-geek and this is what I look for in a show about "heroes". After suffering through the abomination that was season 2, season 3 is a breath of fresh air. I was really happy with the premiere. This season is starting off at a must faster clip than last, and I thought that the story arcs being set up seem very intriguing. That said, while I like the "future Peter" character, the proposition of another season of "present Peter" being trapped somewhere seemed tired. They did that last season. Spare me the stupidity and the ensuing fanboy blindness that causes them to act like this show (and LOST) could do no harm. They're both masking inept writing with a false aura of intelligence. If people think either of these shows is a work of genius, rather written above a 4th grave level, what will they accept to be merely good?

I was a fan from the start in earlier seasons, so I had high hopes for this premiere. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find the plot moving in a very negative and somewhat depressing direction. Perhaps I'm a bit old-fashioned, but I prefer the good guys to out-weigh the bad guys by some measurable amount. This premiere didn't even seem to suggest a light at the end of the tunnel...

"Heroes" is back at a furious pace this season. Gone (so far) are many of the things that made last season so tedious - though they kept Maya. On the positive side, the first two episodes of this season are action packed and full of plot points that resolve quickly and with some decent payoff. Not quite as exciting as Season 1, but infinitely better than Season 2. I shall be watching!

Starting with Volume 3 "Villains". I was very excited for Heroes to return after a 9 month hiatus. This season was promised with more action and a faster moving plot and it definitely did that. Volume 3 started very strong, then in the middle kind of lost its way and went towards the end and really picked up. I enjoyed this volume, more than most. Upon years of viewings I still find this volume fun as hell. From this point in the series, if you sit back and realize it won't be season 1 again and go with it, you will enjoy it. This season has a lot of twist and turns and I do not wish to spoil them for people so I will keep these reviews very quick and broad. Volume 3 is flawed, but a big improvement over season 2. 8.0/10

Volume 4 "Fugitives" fixed the problems "Villains" had. Mostly, the more focused storyline. Fugitives started strong in its first episode then the next two that followed, I wasn't sure. Thankfully, the show picked up and Volume 4, by its 5th episode was so exciting and well written, by far being the second best Volume of the series. Easily a 9/10.

Since normally from a 9 and an 8 you would say it earned an 8.5. But since that can't be rated that way here it has to be a 9, but that is perfectly fine, it definitely earns a 9 over an 8.

Same old gritty show that shows how having super powers and to handle them is not as cool and easy as you would think it would be. Likeable humanistic down to earth characters with always excellent super villains.

The ending was a bit incredulous if you know what a certain characters blood can do and they was actually in the local vicinity of a male nurse who could of helped easy enough as well. Really no logical reason for it to end that way at all. Just very damn silly finale when I think about it almost ruined it all.

Okay, season 1 had a lot of great moments, though it was slow. This, was a mess.

While the acting is still good, the plot keeps getting messier.

I really hate the finale and while Sylar is still cool and has lots of depth I feel that he was getting overused. Also, weird time-travel garbage is present.

This season is a big failure in my perspective.

NBC sent the first hour of tonight's two-hour season premiere to critics, and it's sprinkled with some of the original fun: inventive special effects, a twist or two, some nifty gore. That doesn't stop it from being the same, familiar mess.
  2. Based on the first action-packed and fun episode, it looks like Kring and crew have succeeded in pulling out of their sophomore slump.
  3. Even just a half hour in, it's difficult not to wish everyone would just lighten the heck up. The graphic novel noir feel is becoming increasingly oppressive, and everyone is just so grim.
