Everything that made the first season great is nowhere to be found in Season 2. The horror element that almost single-handedly made the first season amazing is now replaced with a badly executed mystery element.

Everything that made the first season great is nowhere to be found in Season 2. The horror element that almost single-handedly made the first season amazing is now replaced with a badly executed mystery element.

It quickly gets confusing and boring with the time jumps that are used all too often, present and future. Its making it hard to follow along in the story, which in turn also makes it hard to gain a deeper connection to the characters. The fact that it's never stated how long time have passed since the first season didn't help matters.

There were a handful of moments throughout the season that were actually good, but these moments are few and far between.

The fact that I had to force myself to watch the remaining episodes about half way through the season is never a good sign.

They should have kept going with what made the first season great. It's sadly just a big confusing mess compared to the first season.

Helix is the stoned college sophomore of television: full of weighty philosophical notions and fun ideas, but no clue how to explain them or execute its plans.
