Still rocking the mix of action and elevator music. I am enjoying the different feel to the series, which has followed on from the 1st series but has changed to a move sedate pace.

The use of now and 30 years in the future allows you to see what will happen but not how it will happen.

Still solid acting by the cast.

Just sit back and be surprised. What the Helix! Love that the show doesn't take itself too seriously. It's not supposed to be an award winning, ground breaking, tv landscape shifting show. Its purpose is to entertain. Let your mind slip away and buy into what they are presenting, and it works really well.

The fear and horror of season 1 of Helix has been dropped for season 2 with its mixture of time travel and conspiracy theories. The series is no longer frightening and no longer interesting.

Descending into the realms of B grade horror removing whatever SyFi was there upon premise. Presto we now has a Helix, or genetically modified DNA

Dialogue and any science displayed have been ripped off a cracker box, totally bonkers. I watched episode 2 of season2, it had me in stitches. Immortally pregnant, or pregnant immortally, suffering everlasting morning sickness, I dunno your

Immortally pregnant, or pregnant immortally, suffering everlasting morning sickness, I dunno your the Doc? Meanwhile smoking way too much Pol Pot making those fields look trivial on an island a couple hundred miles off the US coast. All because they are an evil cult who cultivate apples that further sprout into zombies. Seriously what am I watching other then a joke?

The first two episodes were very promising, with the uncommon time element they introduced. But it's the same directionless drivel it was a season ago. Syfy attracts only low caliber writers.

Consider this a guilty pleasure of mine.
If you made the most brilliant tv show ever but it was about golf it would be hard to muster energy to even watch ep1, this is the reverse its exactly what i wanted but they just cant seem to execute it.
But at the end of the game this hits very close to my sweet spot, and flaws and all its still great fun.

Everything that made the first season great is nowhere to be found in Season 2. The horror element that almost single-handedly made the first season amazing is now replaced with a badly executed mystery element.

It quickly gets confusing and boring with the time jumps that are used all too often, present and future. Its making it hard to follow along in the story, which in turn also

It quickly gets confusing and boring with the time jumps that are used all too often, present and future. Its making it hard to follow along in the story, which in turn also makes it hard to gain a deeper connection to the characters. The fact that it's never stated how long time have passed since the first season didn't help matters.

There were a handful of moments throughout the season that were actually good, but these moments are few and far between.

The fact that I had to force myself to watch the remaining episodes about half way through the season is never a good sign.

They should have kept going with what made the first season great. It's sadly just a big confusing mess compared to the first season.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'd probably give it a better rating if this was a new show and a different genre. But it isn't. All arcs are completely thrown out of the window and replaced by new ones. The whole plot is thrown away. The choice of location is complete plot armor. The greatest character of the first season is ruined by replacing his arc and letting him die for no good reason. A great disappointment. Expand

Helix is the stoned college sophomore of television: full of weighty philosophical notions and fun ideas, but no clue how to explain them or execute its plans.
