I'm simply editing because, for some reason, my rating of this catastrophe is showing up as a positive. That is not a word that could be associated with this show except in the context of how sure I am that the show is a dog. You TV Bland plants need to piss off.

Happily divorced has a premise that evokes immediate laughter. After years of marriage, the husband comes out of the closet and remains living in the same house with the wife. Sitcom gold.

I went into the show hoping one thing, "I hope it's not just a bunch of gay jokes." Well, it's not JUST a bunch of gay jokes, but there are plenty of them. There's some good sitcom humor too, enough

Well, it's not JUST a bunch of gay jokes, but there are plenty of them. There's some good sitcom humor too, enough that I stuck it out for 3 episodes hoping it would get better. Unfortunately, TV Land's latest attempt is a failure. They should just make Hot in Cleveland 2 hours long and forget any other original programming.

In Happily Divorced, TV Land, the cable channel for baby boomers, finally may have found the perfect companion to its smash "Hot in Cleveland."

Though the series is based on the friendship Drescher developed with her real-life husband after he realized he was gay, there's not a second of the debut episode that feels like it has any connection to actual human behavior.

Once known, this fact [the series is based on the lives its creators] lends to the project an authenticity that might not otherwise be apparent, so steeped is it in the rhythms and conventions of the 20th century sitcom.
