This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This first episode started strong and really overcame its low budget whoas. The opening scene, though the CGI was spotty, really did a great job of establishing who the Spartans are, in an awesome storytelling way, a way that established the mythos better than an action sequence alone could. The following action sequence, which further advances the Spartan mythos, was thrilling if just a little choreographed. The emotional scenes that follow, though not potent, were good. The pacing of the rest of the episode that included introducing the rest of the major characters was pretty driving. The episode cliffhanger left me wanting more. The reveal in the second half will upset many of the fans but I thought it was tactical and made it clear that this is dramatic series and not just a video game.… Expand

The battle it’s the best part the rest it’s so so, it is a kind of introduction and Kwan is the worst part.

It's the calm before the storm, it's like cracks forming in the wall of the show as if it was it's 3rd season. Only it's not...it's the first episode. Unpainted props, unwanted actions and just plain stupidity from the writers out of the gate that make you think "is this supposed to be a farIt's the calm before the storm, it's like cracks forming in the wall of the show as if it was it's 3rd season.
