Much improved over the first season so far. The chemistry between both leads is significantly improved (Jean Smart has always been incredible). The show’s story is much tighter and balanced early on. A very fun, interesting, and smart watch.

Season 2 is a huge improvement over season 1 as putting them on the road adds a whole new dynamic to seeing Deborah Vance outside of her comfort zone of Las Vegas.

Hacks is a comedy drama, with slightly more comedy than last season and a little less of the already small amount of drama. It's an easy watch, where the excellent performances and the charm of likeable characters drive the show forward with ease.
Whilst I don't imagine Hacks is ever going to be anyones favourite show, it will easily entertain the majority from the first to the last

    Easily digestible.
    No chunks.
    Slightly sweet.

Much better than season 1 so far, loving it. Jean Smart is still shining and ready to win all possible prizes (again)

Season 2 of Hacks got off to a good start. It was great to see Laurie Metcalf and Margaret Cho. The last couple episodes, however, I found were a bit weak and lacking in plot. As for Jean Smart and her “undisclosed” heart surgery that I heard interrupted the filming of this season, I hope she’s okay and I hope Hacks continues on. But I do worry about Jean’s well being. She’s up there in age now, she’s type 1 diabetic and apparently she’s had some health issues, so let’s keep our fingers crossed for her. Expand

Much welcomed improvement that thrives in opening the complexities of female relationships. Exploring family, failure and growth Deborah and Ava are a pleasure to watch as each exploit becomes more chaotic. Putting them on the road was a wise decision that not only expands the setting but allows for more chaos to ensue. Jean Smart is brilliant and her co star hopds her own pretty well.

the new season of hacks is just more dazzling than the first season which was really hard to beat but with good acting and a fantastic script hacks gets us to applaud him

The lack of epiphanies, life lessons, and intergenerational bonding is what makes the second season work so well.

Taking Deborah and Ava on a road trip is a good way to keep things moving and mix it up. Hacks remains magnificent, confident comedy.

Smart tackles every aspect of Deborah's complicated personality - her vanity, insecurity, sexuality and unquestionable talent - with passion and wit. Einbinder also shines, now written less a pretentious foil than as a willing apprentice whose dues-paying verges on the slapstick. [23 May - 12 Jun 2022, p.6]
