Gutsy reveals enough insight about the Clintons and the people they talk to make it watchable, even enjoyable. We just wish there was more depth to the episodes.

While Gutsy‘s good intentions make it hard to dislike, its shallowness also makes it difficult to love.

Each [subject] gets only a few minutes of airtime before the hosts jet off to call on somebody new. The encounters themselves vary in interest, but it is the series construction that really cheapens them: Even the most heroic stories can feel facile when dispensed in quick succession. ... Every so often, a genuine moment shines through the shallowness.

Couldn't get past the trailer, but kudos to whoever made that trailer as it told me everything I needed to know. The Clintons aren't heroes inCouldn't get past the trailer, but kudos to whoever made that trailer as it told me everything I needed to know. The Clintons aren't heroes in any stretch of the word, and neither Hillary nor Chelsea reflect anything resembling "gutsy." They are consummate political animals. I doubt any of them have anything resembling real human personalities underneath that veneer of corporate femininity. Did I vote for her? Yes, but it was only because I thought Trump was a buffoon. Honestly, I credit her for the sea change in my voting habits. I voted for the lesser of two evils all of my life with one exception; Obama. Even now I feel duped by that decision. After Trump won, and seeing the behavior of the DNC and the Clintons, I finally broke out of that shell and will only ever vote for a candidate I believe in vs. the lesser of two evils. That's not "gutsy" though, and none of the women interview I would consider "gutsy," but rather a corporate, Today Show version of that. It's a fugazi and it's the opposite of feminism in my mind. It's a sham and marketing. "Futsy" would be a better title for this DNC feminine branding. Full Review »
