After six years, the series ended its trajectory without much noise. Glee is far from being a great series. When it comes to productions aimed at young adults and adolescents, many others managed to address these issues in greater depth, but one work does not eliminate the other. Glee managed, in its own way, to create identification with a portion of the public who felt grateful to see themselves represented on television. This alone is enough not to delegitimize the series' trajectory. Expand

Even though it goes down after Season 4, the show is absolutely amazing! Many twists, awesome music, diversity, basically "High School Musical" grown-up, even better than that cheesy guilty pleasure movie. Worth the watch!

It balances snark, self awareness and sweetness, sometimes perfectly and sometimes horribly. What holds the show back is it’s propensity to stack up campy, melodramatic storytelling against human emotion, therefore it subsequently lacks the reality of anyone having to deal with the long term consequences of any action, thus there is little room for character development. With each season, the plots get less consistent and these issues become more prevalent, all while losing sight of the purpose of the show to begin with. Yes, it’s messy and we would all like to pretend that seasons 4-6 didn’t exist, but when it was good, there was nothing quite like it. There is that something special in Glee where you can’t help but fall in love with the characters and feel secretly heart warmed when it’s at its cheesiest. To score it any higher would be ridiculous, but to score it any lower would be serving an injustice to the sheer greatness this show produced at its best moments. Expand
