The first episode felt a bit on the weaker side, but it was nice to see a lot of healing going on with characters after last season situations prior to Hannah's final moments. Will be interesting to see where this season takes us. I still enjoy the show, but find it to be slightly diminishing each season just a bit. Hoping it delivers stronger by the end of this season.

"Girls" has become the annoying girlfriend and dramaqueen you so much dislike, but who enriches your boring routine. I cringe and yet can't look away. But once your had your dose, you're happy to be left alone again with your, by far, less boringly complicated life.

Displays a new maturity in the premiere, an effortlessly confident episode that's not bent on being controversial. There have truly been just a few bad episodes of Girls (the rom-com-y beginnings of season three). Dunham knows exactly what she's doing and she's good at it.

The characters are brilliantly fleshed out. No one escapes Dunham's scathing critique (including her own character, Hannah). These are silly people full of their own sense of importance basically fighting for attention like a box of puppies. Toss in rather graphic sex scenes and you've got one Molotov Cocktail of a show. This was by far my favorite season of this show. Characters went from wildly hard to relate to and transformed into still quirky characters that brought interesting perspectives to very relatable life problems.

Hannah struggles to find her place in this world, while Marnie desperately seeks affection. Jenna is still the crazy strange woman she has been, but in season 4 that plays to her favor. But most of all, Shoshanna has some bombshell lines such as - “People always talk about how love is like the strongest emotion. But I was scared, and sometimes that’s even stronger."

If you didn't like Girls before, you aren't going to like it now. But if you're like me, who got hooked for the first season and felt that it was derailing itself and losing purpose in season 3, season 4 will be a pleasant surprise for you.

I'm surprised to say that season 4 of Girls has taken a turn for the better. Cutting, funny, touching; let's just hope this revitalization will continue on throughout the season.

Girls is (at this point almost surprisingly) good.

The new season has plenty of surprises (couples aren’t who you think they are), a reality check for Marnie and a nice showcase for Rannells.

So far the show is biting, funny, touching and surprising. In short, it's an absolute delight, and possibly even better than the landmark first season.
