“What’s there not to love about the town of Stars Hollow?” the song asks, in what is both a sincere question and, perhaps, a swipe at the place’s provincialism. While watching Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, you may find yourself asking the same thing, and you may conclude that there is still plenty to love. For me it was the TV equivalent to comfort food. A comeback that took me by surprise and still left me longing for more. I was immersed from beginning til end, mostly due to nostalgia, but also due to the top-notch acting and the typical, multiple sentences-driven dialogues which sometimeFor me it was the TV equivalent to comfort food. I really loved this revival. It felt like home! Lorelai and Rory were perfect. I didn't enjoy Rory as a character, but I believe is plausible for her to do lots of mistakes as in the previous seasons. Emily was perfect!

The Gilmore Girls reunion was amazing, beyond my expectations. Of course I missed a bigger participation of Sookie, Lane and Jess, but overall I was really happy about the show. Lorelai and Emily are funny, as usual, and the show knew how to deal with the death of Richard reallyThe Gilmore Girls reunion was amazing, beyond my expectations. Lorelai and Emily are funny, as usual, and the show knew how to deal with the death of Richard really respectfully. Lorelai and Emily´s scenes were the best of the revival. I loved, too, how Paris evolved. So, so funny! Also, I loved what Amy Sherman Palladino did with Rory. She always had been a clever girl, but unfortunately life isn´t the way we want all the times. (spoiler alert) Rory needs to repeat the story of her mom, and that´s a beautiful thing. She must build her life from scratch, just like Lorelai did. I wish I could see her story in a spin-off. Anyway, I want to congratulate Netflix for making us happy!… Expand

Never being a massive Gilmore Girls fan I was intrigued to see how the show would fare after all these years, and it did not disappoint. Though there were moments I found confusing (The Life and Death Brigade) overall it was light camp fun. Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life was a highly anticipated return to the life of Rory and Lorelai Gilmore. The 4 seasonal episodes nicely broke up the story and allowed for a greater expansion of the storylines. The characters have grown but kept their classic witty banter they are belovedGilmore Girls: A Year in the Life was a highly anticipated return to the life of Rory and Lorelai Gilmore. The 4 seasonal episodes nicely broke up the story and allowed for a greater expansion of the storylines. The characters have grown but kept their classic witty banter they are beloved for. The inclusion of modern pop culture references kept audiences engaged and laughing. I really enjoyed the cameos from so many different original Gilmore Girls characters. These were definitely noticed and appreciated by dedicated fans of the show. A part I did not care for, however, was the musical number in the Summer episode. This dragged and did not serve to move the plot along at all. I also thought the actions of Rory’s character were uncharacteristic. Rory seemed much more lost and immature than she did in her younger years which just didn’t make much sense to me. Overall, I thought the series was a nice depiction of Stars Hollow in modern times but a continuation of the story into more episodes would provide a better opportunity to give a more in-depth review.… Expand

Much like Netflix's other "reunion" shows, this is a "Gilmore Girls" greatest hits. All of the characters from the past are brought back for a 30 second quip and then they're on to the next thing. The fast-talking is the same, the characters are their old extreme stereotypes, and if youMuch like Netflix's other "reunion" shows, this is a "Gilmore Girls" greatest hits. The fast-talking is the same, the characters are their old extreme stereotypes, and if you watched the original series, you know exactly what you're getting: kinda crappy people trying to deal with and being crappy to other kinda crappy people. But we love them because they wear both their strengths and their flaws right out on their sleeves for everyone to see.

If you watched the originals, you'll be satisfied with this. If you didn't, you'll need to watch the originals first.… Expand

Utterly boring. For a so called 'family' show, it sure does glamorise infidelity a whole lot, and without any sort of remorse or development into the characters who are being cheated on. It brushes over them, as if they don't matter and portray an ugly version of what they deem aUtterly boring. The ending "coming full circle" also does not sit well with me, this show seems to lack growth as we are set up to praise Rory for making the same mistakes as her mother, instead of learning and growing from them. There is so much more I could say but I'd rather not waste my breath discussing the extremely slow pace, the unfortunate and lengthy musical number and the ultimate unlike-ability of the characters that never get their endings. Gilmore Girls 'A Year In The Life' should really be name Gilmore Girls 'A Year Of Wasted Time And Wasted Potential'… Expand
