A fairly entertaining, if quite middle-of-road debut season. It is not super, duper fresh and, if being overly critical, it shares some resemblance with What We Do in the Shadows (in terms of bizarre, historical characters dealing with the modern day) and that show is much better tbh. With that said though, it might just be the horrible histories nostalgia but I'm gonna keep watching, feelA fairly entertaining, if quite middle-of-road debut season. Ghosts is very British – a mashup of Noël Coward’s Blithe Spirit and Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), not to mention the manifold sillinesses of Hammer horrors. But it is American in the sense of having a gag-to-airtime ratio much higher than British sitcoms normally manage these days.

It works, in other words – which is quite special for supernatural-based light entertainment. Outside of Ghostbusters, spook-related comedies usually fail, as if they are themselves accursed. Ghosts is sweet, but with a little edge, the special effects unobtrusively done.
