Let's be honest "Syfy" has always had some incredibly cheesy original movies, but that's what makes them so fun. Awkward effects, bland acting, and goofy plots are what to expect when dealing with a "Syfy" original movie. "Ghost Shark" is no exception. It's just goofy fun. The idea of a ghost shark that can appear in any water source is absurdly great, and succeeds because it uses this to full effect. Gory and downright funny deaths are a highlight. Honestly the movie is just to much cheesy fun to not recommend. So if you're willing to turn off the part of your brain that takes things too seriously and you'll have a blast with "Ghost Shark". I know I did. Expand

Ghost Shark, in contrast [to "Sharknado"], is probably closer to 75 or 80 percent "great title," with the execution lagging behind. That may not be better than some on the Syfy slate, but it's better than many and there are moments of fun here, even if they come way too early in the movie and set Ghost Shark up for a final act that fizzles.

It's ridiculous, but it doesn't bite.
