    season 2 is of course not as good as season 1 , but it still is a good silly fun. Nothing more, nothing less. It is not pretentious, which can not be said of something pompous shows on TVs these days passing off as art. Its lightness , its humour are a welcome relief from all these dark shows that pretend to be realistic and bore into the abyss of the murderous minds or the police mind.

    In no way does it lose the sublime sauce that lubricates everything here--how movies and movie-making, or just the allure of Hollywood, capture the imagination of those outside that world while warping those within it. That's where the best comedy comes from in Get Shorty and there's no letting up on that element in the early going of season two.

    Get Shorty is superbly entertaining, both dramatically and comedically, and buoyed by performances that still lack official recognition from various trophy dispensers.
