Terrible, predictable...not sure which should come first...but typical of today's show. Only good point of the show is the captain, the guy that was on Lost. Maybe it'll pick up in the mexican viewership but it's a POS only good for a season.

I was really hoping for a decent replacement for Southland, my favorite TV show, but Gang Related SUCKS. It doesn't even come close to being a fraction as good as Southland. The dialogue is cheesy, the acting sucks, and the story is ridiculous. Even English actors can do a good job at a generic American accent. I'll try and give it a chance because it can't possibly get any worse, I hope. This show just makes me appreciate how awesome Southland was. Expand

This show could have had much better ratings but it's not surprising that it doesn't. If the main character continues with his "deer in the headlights" look every time he is suspected of being the mole, I will throw my shoe at the TV screen! Plus the actor that plays Javier Acosta definitely does not know Spanish, he has a terrible accent. The head of the Metas is actually a Cuban actor, so the Mexican accent is lacking. The writing of this show is so predictable and boring, please! Can we find another show that the main actor gets involved with his boss' daughter, who also happens to be a DA? No creativity at all. I would not be surprised if this show is not renewed. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The central point of the show is that an adopted son of a major gang-related crime family is set up as a mole for the family inside the police department's special gang task force. Bit of a stretch, but OK, until said mole is repeatedly publicly seen with members of the gang family and is about as under cover as a fluorescent ceiling light. I turned it off -- the show not the light -- after ten minutes but later decided to stick it out for the full length. A mistake! Expand

ONe of the things I will not tolerate is the killing children in these drug films. Just saw that happen in the last issue / I realize this happens in real life but dont need to see it on tv so I will not be watching this at all . The only saving grace is the bad guys will b killed in the end

This show is lame and idiotic. The good reviews must be written by shills working for the producers or network. It has nothing going for it. Truly trash.

I dislike this show. I'm watching it only in hopes it gets better, and I'm bored.
I'm tired of shows (Gang Related-The Bridge)writing dialogue in English, and directly translating it to Español.
We (Mexican Americans) do NOT speak like that... We/they have syntax that makes sense in Spanish. You might have Mexican American actors, but at least get some speech coaches. Or do some due

Or do some due diligence, watch some Mexican Daytime soaps...
    They actually speak the language...

After watching a number of episodes, all I can say is that the story is just so predictable.
The show is made from a number of old cliches strung together.
The actors do not have much chemistry.
This is what makes this show this show kind of boring.

The action scenes are impressive, the cast admirably diverse (with Cliff Curtis especially strong as Ryan's demanding surrogate father), and the tone suitably rugged. All Gang Related needs to up the ante is a hero who's a little more "anti-."

The writing is sharp, the atmosphere thick with tension from, among other things, car and foot chases.

O'Quinn doesn't have nearly the command he did on Lost, even if he is in charge. Any scenes with the gang members' families are just plain cringe-worthy.
