This is a vote for protest. Cause they had the budget and the material to do something great yet they chose the way of lazy writing and hurry. The writers should never work again on such big production. And Martin should be really pissed of seeing how they butchered his work. I will wait for the books!

Summary of the finale of the Game of Thrones by D&D:

    - Another big portion of nonsense from Benioff&Weiss.

    GAME OVER.................................................................................

Started getting worse in seasons 6 & 7 but was still captivating. Pathetic attempt at a final season has ruined my outlook on a series which I had adored for nearly a DECADE.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What a disastrous season 8. Too rushing, too shallow and pointless in every way. And for this we‘ve waited 2 years. Thanks D&D for ruin such a great show. After this season I‘m not interested anymore to rewatch the other seasons again because I know now that everything doesn’t matters when at the end Bran got elected to be king within 30 seconds by some silly arguments from imprisoned Tyrion. Everybody‘s story is better than Brans – especially Jon ones. With this season GoT became trash for me. Expand

The show was reduced to "let's kill baby Hitler" instead of looking at it from the philosofical point and accepting that everyone on the throne will decent to madness or alcoholism or will be just a puppet.

What an absolute waste of so many years of character development and great story telling. Poorly executed, contradictory writing in the final season along with strange production values - badly lit, inconsistent cgi, the Starbucks and water bottles incidents on camera, went from literally one of the best shows in television history to one of the worst.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This season was by far the biggest letdown for otherwise one of the best television shows of all time, ranking up with the likes of The Soprano's. Season 8 completely gave up on itself with each character making decisions, and doing things that made no sense because these writers had completely lost it. All supernatural aspects of the show were completely forgotten or did not matter, with Bran going into the past and confirming that Jon was Aegon even though in the end it did not affect the show at all. Had Jon not been Aegon the ending would still be the same as him being an heir to the throne did not matter. Also when Tyrion chose Bran to be king how did he know Bran was the three eyed raven, and does Tyrion even understand what that means. From my perspective no characters even know who or what the three eyed raven is except for Arya and Sansa, but even they along with Bran hardly know what this means. How then when Tyrion mentions should this resonate with the other lords of Westeros because they do not know what that even means or why that should matter. Expand

This season is a shame. The writers showed complete inability to write anything logical without Martin's book. All storylines from last 7 years were just trashed. Nobody should support any other projects of the idiots who wrote the plot for season 8.

This is the day I fell out of love with game of thrones... Thank you D&D for turning it into utter **** Obviously seasons 5 and 6 were less good, but I forgave because mistakes happen... Season 7 Wight Hunt was ridiculous, and that's were I started to lose hope for a great ending. There is no rewatching value after season 8. Turning a 10/10 into 8 would still have been ok. The end season is "disrespectful" and “insulting” to viewers. Watching this crap is just a huge waste of time.

This season ruined the entire series, it is so disrespectful of Ben and Dave to do something like this to a perfect 10/10 series. They rushed through the entire season. I really wonder who’s idea it was to “take away every single good aspect of the series and replace it with sloppy writing, bad dialogue and also somehow manage to make every single good character into annoying ass peasants. This season ruined the entire series, it is so disrespectful of Ben and Dave to do something like this to a perfect 10/10 series. I don't know a single Game of Thrones fan that could not write a better final season to the show. This season is a remarkable piece of garbage, that managed to ruin the entire series. Not the good kind of treason, but treason to us, the fans.

Battle strategy? Let's charge into the enemy army in the dark for no reason!
Night King's motivation? He's just an evil blue dude!
Character development? Screw that! Let's go for shock value even if it does not make any sense!
Who is going to be the king? Bran, VOTED by Tyrion, who is sentenced to death (?) and somehow can decide who the king is (??)

Oh god. It is simply a 0/10. Should be a -10/10 because it really ruins the rest of the show.

The premiere pulled everyone and everything together; it was, for the most part, an almost nostalgic hour. ... It is the competing loyalties, the loves and enmities that enmesh the Lannisters, Starks, Targaryens and the rest, after all, and the questions Game of Thrones poses about conscience and corruption and the manifestations of power, that will propel us through to the end.

As in season 7, the big problem with “Winterfell”—the reason it felt more like an unlucky videographer’s rendering of an exceptionally dysfunctional family reunion than like a carefully crafted story—was the pacing.

The show has stepped up its pacing. For the most part, that has been immensely satisfying, yielding crowd-pleasing moments that the and that the series generally avoided in the often-grim journey, especially for the Stark kids, which has led to this point.
