David Benioff and D. B. Weiss ruined one of the best shows ever in 5 episodes. I feel for George... Please, just don't give good reviews to those 2 horrible writters, they don't deserve get any opportunity to ruined another work from anyone.

it's getting worse and worse since season 5, season 7 was absolutely dumb but this season has somehow become even dumber

It’s obvious that HBO is paying off their reviewers. Why the Stark contrast in perceived quality, critics? It’s kind of funny, whenever critics rate something positively expect it to be **** and them to be paid off to write good reviews.

I’m actually depressed after seeing what these morons have done to this show! Arya Jill’s night king!!! Nooooooooooo, it’s been dumbed down for awhile and i could have lived with that. But that was just a betrayal pure and simple. I hope the prequels actually deal with our questions with, i don’t know, answers?

Basically all that's been built up for the past seasons going down the drain thanks to the bad writing. Very disappointing ...

I feel sorry for the actors and all the crew and effects folks that put their heart and soul into this travesty. But as the great Butthead once said, “You can’t polish a turd, Beavis”, and the writing this season is absolutely atrocious.

Honestly this season has been a real disappointment this season was supposed to be the peak of the show. Instead it's been a let down. There is nothing that draws you in. This season I have had no emotional investment in the show whatsoever.

Sloppy writing on behalf of D&D. They clearly stopped caring for the show which is unfortunate for everyone.

Breath-taking scenes, amazing actors, brutal action scenes, unbearable suspense and long, intense episodes! What could go wrong in the grand final? Well, basically, everything else. Probably, the worst writing ever done in any story ever. An endless uncoherent bullsh*t that will make you want to spoon out your own eyes before vomiting every usable brain cell. Well, basically, everything else. Probably, the worst writing ever done in any story ever. An endless uncoherent bullsh*t that will make you want to spoon out your own eyes before vomiting every usable brain cell. This conclusion to Game of Thrones goes in the continuity of the precedent season, where they basically send to the trash everything that they previously established. This is the most unsatisfying season ever. Should you wtach it? Well, it will depend if you are overall concerned by the plot or if you just want to see some action, plot twists and feel the suspense. In the first case, you should probably pass your way and wait for the book in the hope that those have a better end. In the second case, this show is probably made for you and as long as you don't mind the horribly weak plot, you'll probably completely fall in love. Expand

Une saison 8 qui part en couille. 8 saisons pour construire un magnifique chateau de carte et tout detruire avec une pichnette, c'est le sentiment que j'ai.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Basically, the worst season. Writers were so lazy. We've waited two years for this, really ? Arya and her horse coming from nowhere, Cersei killed by bricks, mad king killed so easily, Arya can't escape easily a city under siege but can kill the mad king and not be viewed by thousands of his soldiers, daynerys going mad after her victory, the hound fight is no vengeance at all, Bran is useless, Jon Snow didn't kill him or Cersei (basically the prince that wasn't really promised), Varys just wtf, Sam and others fought against white walkers but didn't die while qualifiers soldiers did (is it someWalt Disney ?). Actors themselves are so disappointed they try to hide their disappointment when they're asked about this season. Expand

Just a disgrace. The writers are absolutely terrible. There was no consistency and absolutely no logic to their actions. They just tried so hard to amaze us that they stopped thinking if the events they put in sequence made sense. They made the best show into a total waste of time.

Superb cinematography, ruined by mediocre Seto ring and the true causality being character development and storytelling logic.

Very mediocre writing. It's like GRRM gave them the major plot points and they slapped them into a script with as little thought as possible. Genuinely very sad for a great series to end this way.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. About as bad as it could get. Objectively speaking this is some of the worst storytelling I have ever watched. Bran as king? Wasn't it not even a few episodes ago he refused winterfell because he was no longer brandon stark? Jon easily could have married Dany instead of murdering her.

Is this bittersweet enough for you? Or just plain old **** I hope the writers enjoyed butchering one of shows of all time.

    Thank god its over.

This is a vote for protest. Cause they had the budget and the material to do something great yet they chose the way of lazy writing and hurry. The writers should never work again on such big production. And Martin should be really pissed of seeing how they butchered his work. I will wait for the books!

I loved the chapter too much, I suffered a lot because of the loss of characters, but outside of that it was an excellent chapter

Daenerys isn't a villain. Daenerys was sold, raped and betrayed, fought for what she wanted and won all obstacles, so can the writers treat her as the leader she is? Cause all we saw in the premiere was a weak and boring sidekick to Jon.

The final season of Game of Thrones has managed to wrap up a melodic song of Ice and Fire in a way that remains “true” to the source material, and guess what? the endgame of this final season went full True Blood and it sucks! And that’s why D.B Weiss and David Benioff decided to ignore quality from the source material and get quantity to rack up their paychecks by leaving bigger plotholes just to piss everyone off who sticks around the show’s final moments to get fulfilled or unfulfilled. The actors and crew members of the show tried their absolute best to save the final moments of this season, but the rushed incompetent writing by Dan and Dave ruins the final overall value in the Game of Thrones. This season is utter nonsense. A big fan and 8 years down the drain. Perhaps Benioff and Weiss should focus on screen writing B-movies, it's more up their league.

The premiere pulled everyone and everything together; it was, for the most part, an almost nostalgic hour. ... It is the competing loyalties, the loves and enmities that enmesh the Lannisters, Starks, Targaryens and the rest, after all, and the questions Game of Thrones poses about conscience and corruption and the manifestations of power, that will propel us through to the end.

As in season 7, the big problem with “Winterfell”—the reason it felt more like an unlucky videographer’s rendering of an exceptionally dysfunctional family reunion than like a carefully crafted story—was the pacing.

The show has stepped up its pacing. For the most part, that has been immensely satisfying, yielding crowd-pleasing moments that the and that the series generally avoided in the often-grim journey, especially for the Stark kids, which has led to this point.
