Not bad at all! Not sure why the ratings are so low. Definitely some cliche stuff and mediocre of the main actors (the husband and wife astronauts both are just ok). But writing is solid.

One of the best new shows of 2019.

Personally hate period peices, especially those glorifying the 60s-80s. That said this alternative history drama is set at such a fast pace that it does not focus much on the culture of those eras. While its certainly not the most scientifically accurate, it is an entertaining show that is well written and surprisingly well acted. Personally I

Personally I hate that it is on Apple. Clearly these are shows intended to be on Sony before they finally gave up trying to run their own streaming service (that offered several unexpectedly good original shows. More than Hulu has ever made)

While the show does have some glaring flaws in its plot lines, the total package of Season 1 was compelling and it sets up a lot of possibilities for future seasons. Definitely worth a watch.

A clever and well written alternate timeline of the space race between the USA and the USSR. Plays heavy on some of the themes of the time and combined with some beautifully crafted "space" scenes makes this compelling viewing.

While the rousing speeches don’t really rouse, the production design is a handsome distraction and even though it might not exactly leap off the screen, Moore’s storytelling is relatively well-honed, meaning that it’s never less than watchable. ... A solidly, blandly entertaining drama that will be no one’s favourite of the year while also avoiding being anyone’s worst.

Things do get mildly more interesting when women are invited to join the space program. ... But where “For All of Mankind” loses itself a bit is in how it unpacks its characters; there’s a lot of pulling back, but not a lot of pushing forward. This results in a pace that is simultaneously plodding and sprawling.

For All Mankind is nowhere near perfect, but it’s deeply watchable — eventually.
