Bad enough of a show, made worse by knowledge that Will Arnett has relapsed because of it. I hope with every fiber of my being that he comes to his senses and drops this. If not, I hope Netflix cancels it.

It might be accurate to the bums that live in Venice, but that doesn't make it watchable. It's just not funny nor is there any drama. Either make the characters more douchy/funny or have some kind of heartbeat. Is anybody buying that Will Arnett could land those girls? I'm not.

Where most shows throw their massive production budget into CGI stunt pieces and sets, making the audience forget their problems in the real world, Flaked addresses peoples problems particularly thier flaws, using both its actors and writer to do so. Whilst, yes, it really only suites the middle class viewer, the middle age viewer and the the younger audience albeit searching for jobs, it at least shows, discusses and relinquishes in its problems. This show will not please you, like the crap ones with over blown budgets try to, but at least in some way it gets you to face yourself.

Not for the viewers who want to forget and use entertainment in a conducive way, certainly not for educational purposes but, in some ways, it at least allows you to explore the characters differently instead of the constant third viewer sympathy trudge we normally get. The acting and the story telling are used perfectly by its location, which are actually both colourful and interesting, not all parts are realistic, but the conflict of the show ties it together well. The only thing it lacks is convictional writing and some scientific language to boost it messages to being somewhat intellectual.

Finally to address the already overwhelmingly bad reviews for this, I can simply tie it down to an audience who likes to watch exciting programs instead, side note: "so do I." However I don't think the the reviewers and audiences alike have taken into account a show that is a break from forgetting and instead a time for some reflection, which is actually sometimes enjoyable and helpful, I understand finding it boring, but least try not to be so harsh on something that helps others, its not harmful for TV like this to be made so I think the scathing reviews are unwarranted.

Flacked is a trip to the world the part of Venice CA, with its special vibe. The story of Chip, who is in search of his place in the world, but due to his innocence almost infantile Chip is seen in the midst of a great confusion generated by the entiras that he himself tells to remain as a respected guy in his community.

The general disapprobation for this show is indicative of the low tolerance in our day for complex writing and nuanced character sketches. Slow to start and slow to develop, this jewel flies over the head of the fidget spinner ADD generation.

Expecting some over the top storyline. This show is a character analysis. I't is not about the story, rather about how people treat themselves and each other. What drives their behavior and how it affects others.
Other storytellers show you when or if a character lied, Flaked leaves it in the open. You can decide for yourself whether you sympathize with the decisions that Chip makes, but you don't have to sympathize with them. The character is not there to win your favor.
Flaked shows the flaws of human nature better than most other shows currently on Netflix. And anyone who has actually spent time trying to figure out themselves, deal with addiction or just trying their best to be a better person and failing because basic human nature comes from narcissism.
Flaked handles theese topics in a very smart and subtle way. My only criticism is that it also tries to be funny, which is not its strong side, but the jokes seem as desperate and spontanious as the ones we make in real life conversations. Not like the ones written by some comedy genious staff.

TL;DR: Flaked seems to be misunderstood by people that were expecting something else.

Flaked is a train wreck of a show, albeit a somewhat slow and aimless one. The drama has a warm, low-key vibe that is a lot of fun over a bottle or two of wine. The show is a good reminder that not all problems have obvious paths, sharp edges, or abrupt crescendos, some just play themselves out slowly as people evolve.

Boring show. Bad plot. Even worse is the acting itself. Watched one episode which was more than enough! Seriously, this is no comedy because there is no humor in this.

This is the worst thing ever. The whole thing makes no sense really. The acting is so bad that the already bad plot gets even worse. I tried watching a few episodes but it was too painful. I really do not recommend this show to anyone.

I heard a lot of criticism and didn't listen to it because everyone obviously has a different taste but...I must say that the negative comments here are on point. I don't get this show at all. I tried to go through a whole season but it was too painful to go through it. The plot has no point. The acting is so bad that I had to cringe more than once. A big fat disappointment to be quiet honest.

Here is my take on Flaked. In the beginning it seemed and looked as tho Will had finally gotten casts for a great well written miniseries, not until the maybe episode 5 6 that I realized i was actually watching the washed down poor mans version of Californication. I still finished the season.

There's something comforting and nice about it. Maybe it's the fact that the main guy is a bit lost, like all of us, and this makes it easy to relate to him. The show's not perfect but that's not what it's about - it's as messed up as real life can be.

[Netflix's Love] at least felt fresh and directed in the way it surgically examined the tropes of the romantic comedy. It was a character study that had a purpose, explaining through its run why we were watching these characters to begin with. Flaked never answers that question.
