Summary: This sitcom took a look at what happens when a self-centered, high-powered promotions executive with a large Manhattan firm and her personal assistant both get laid off, then form their own business venture and try to work on an equal footing. The principal cast was rounded out with newcomer Mark Feuerstein as aspiring writer Danny, Terry's brother and roommate; and veteran Jonathan Banks, owner of the bar/restaurant Clockworks, over which the others live and who is enamored of Gwen the first time he lays eyes on her. (The feeling isn't mutual.)

There were high hopes for Fired Up when it debuted in April 1997. The new series got a much-coveted time slot on Thursday between Seinfeld and ER. But a later shift to Monday, followed by another time change hurt the developing show's chances of garnering a larger following. The prestige of being a product of Kelsey Grammer's (Frasier) production company didn't help much, and after about a season's worth of episodes, NBC cancelled it. Not long after the show's initial network run, it became a part of the USA Network's "USAM" comedy lineup until September 2000. After a lengthy hiatus, USA resumed showings starting January 2, 2002.
