One of the best new sci-fi stories written in the last 2 decades. Youtuber Olan Rogers built this series from the ground up. Considering I wasn’t a fan of animated series, my high rating says a lot. There’s just so much content to discover on multiple viewings. Some of the backgrounds are based on actual images taken by Hubble. Strongly recommend checking it out on Netflix.… Expand

The greatest show to come around in years! Cleverly mixes drama and comedy, has great animation and voice acting, and has a story that hooks you in from episode one, slowly building in pace until it leaves you breathless. The start of the season was a bit random but overall the story is fun the jokes are there and the final episode hits you right in the feels. The creator teased season 3 so... fingers crossed!

Super fun show. It takes some time to get used to the characters and voice acting (i.e. an episode or two). After which characters become lovable and interesting and the final few episodes (of each season, so far) glue you to your seat andSuper fun show. Season 1 pleasantly surprised me. I did not expect much from this show, but it displayed an ability to write a compelling story, with evolving characters, and an interesting villain. It also contains really beautiful impressions of theSeason 1 pleasantly surprised me. I did not expect much from this show, but it displayed an ability to write a compelling story, with evolving characters, and an interesting villain. It also contains really beautiful impressions of the wonders of space.
Sadly, after an impressive and moving finale, season 2 was a major letdown. Whereas the first season had a tight plot, with each character being essential, the second one stretches over many filler episodes, with plenty of dumb gags, some uninteresting villains, and additional characters that detract from the focus with a shallow presence.
Regardless, by the end of the season, the original plot is resumed, along with the theme of painful self-sacrifice.
To summarize, this series requires some patience from the viewer, and while it may appear shallow and silly at first, there's more to it.… Expand

A pleasant surprise in 2019, and I'm reviewing the first two seasons today.
The humor is great, the animation is beautiful and fluid, the story is very original and the characters are amazing! It should be much more popular.

I found out this series when I was watching Rick And Morty on Netflix. I loved it. The history is epic and a bit sad too. I started watching this series as a goofy take on space operas. It has rapidly grabbed my interest and attention. I am so looking forward to season 3. Final Space is not afraid to take risks, including some very painful emotional moments. TheI started watching this series as a goofy take on space operas. It has rapidly grabbed my interest and attention. I am so looking forward to season 3. Final Space is not afraid to take risks, including some very painful emotional moments. The family dynamics are realistic and impactful. The interminable unfulfilled romance of Gary and Quinn is also paid off in spades. Some of the character sacrifices in this series are truly inspirational and saddening. The true fabric of the cartoon remains the goofy, insane humour. Like all good stories, this has world building and a larger mythology. It does borrow from Lovecraft and Greek precursors significantly, but then again so does almost every modern mythos. The set pieces are also fantastic, at the same level as Guardians of the Galaxy, which could be called a strong parallel. The interdimensional adventures are very entertaining and epic in scale. The animation is quite dramatic and compelling, no less massive than a typical blockbuster. Some of the action sequences are hair raising and so beautifully done, amazing colour palettes and dynamic animation.… Expand

Both season 1 and 2 are awesome, the development of each character it's really smooth and good all over the two seasons. Hue and Mooncake, are the best of the best!!

it has been years since an animated series has left me so fascinated, I cannot find many defects, for me it is incredible.

a hidden gem uppon animated series. No japanese snime nor the typical american cartoon series just a comedy series in some mature way. A lot of funny moments and jokes.

Je pensais voir un dessin animé classique, au final il m'a fait rire et pleurer comme peu de films avant ça. Le scénario, les rebondissements, les problématiques évoquées sont bien plus profondes que ce qu'on peut penser au premier abord.
