As a spinoff it feels somewhat repetative of the main show. However really hits a nice stride in seasons 2 and 3. This all gets disregarded in season 4 onwards and the show is turned into everything bad about the original. Watch season 3 andAs a spinoff it feels somewhat repetative of the main show. Fear The Walking Dead struggles to find momentum and fluidity, up to the third season, and because of this it falls flat and becomes rather uninteresting and as a viewer it feels disengaging. The characters are rather dull and plain with no real depth to them - the only case in which this can't be said for is Nick, quite possibly the only character in this show who is interesting. Furthermore, the main story feels rather bare and doesn't move at a fluid rate with a number of filler episodes. The main plot points and storytelling show promise and can be engaging but there are plenty of times where this isn't the case. If I were you I'd give this show a shot but don't go in expecting a well written, engaging and interesting show. Expand

The show was great up until season 4, then everything went downhill from there.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I find myself frustrated with this show. I remember a huge appeal of this spin off series was seeing the fall of society. However, by the time episode 4 starts. Zombies are already common and society is mostly over. I feel this show jumped the gun and speed through their very interesting time period to just be the west coast walking dead. Regular walking dead was already a zombie action series everyone wanted. I just wished fear was a slow burn that took it's time. Episode 1 for example is a masterpiece Expand

If you watch this show then do yourself a favour and consider the final episode of Season 3 to be the series finale... because the show was destroyed after that. It's still unbelievable to me that the show went from such perfection to such mediocrity so quickly. Expand

Like oh so and so died...how sad? They just didn't do too good of a job making these characters memorable in my opinion or enough to make me care for them.

But I don’t know maybe it's just me and my family who are having a hard time liking/relating to them?

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Now in stark contrast to the gold standard original series Walking Dead, this spin off lacks the soul and substance of the parent serial. The characters lack empathy and maturity, and act in very cold ways that are real turn offs. It’s almost like a gallery of villain survivalists. Spoiler warnings - stop reading past this point if you did not see Season 1 Episode 6.
--- you were warned ---
I usually do not spill the beans on a set of characters but this group, Mr. Manawa and the gang are a bunch of despicable characters. After torture they extract unverified information that may not be a direct threat, yet they take a vicious series of actions. They abandon their neighbours to their fate, no warning no opportunity, and they waltz off to release a horde on a base of soldiers and refugees, with no concern for any innocents who might be destroyed in the wake of their sabotage. Such a horde was called a nuke by Michonne in Walking Dead season 9 - how the hell am I supposed to emphasize with these people after their act? Not only that, individually they are a bunch of insipid navel gazers who don’t really rise up to sacrifice for each other, they are driven only by self-preservation instincts, a cornerstone of which is abandonment of loved ones and innocents. In addition, the actions of the US military are truly despicable. Knowing full well the infection is continent wide, they chose to abandon the population they swore to protect, and then to commit genocide on the same. This type of civilization deserves to collapse. I will continue to watch the series for horror and shock factor, but I might cheer when any of this motley bunch dies, unlike the gut punch sorrow of the loss of beloved characters in Walking Dead. --- end of rant ---
