Jun 6, 2017I'm astonished by the beginning of Fear The Walking Dead. I never expected this show to get any better but, at least, the premiere is really action packed.

Jun 24, 2017Definitely the best season thus far. The show is finally at the point within the apocalypse where it is actually worth watching. Not as good as The Walking Dead, but definitely good enough to hold me over until The Walking Dead starts back up again.

Jan 13, 2018Awful show and steals stuff from TWD but makes it worse. Also they killed the best character.

Dec 6, 2018Aside from a few questionable storyline decisions towards the end of the season, FTWD still amazes with a breath of fresh ideas, settings, interesting characters and satisfying resolutions. It forgoes cliffhangers and brings out complex dynamics in character interactions never seen before in Kirkman's universe.

May 6, 2018Even with a stupid decision in the first two episodes and some arguably dumb moments throughout the season, the third season shows us that this show can be a little more than meh. It’s promising, as the seasons keep getting better even if ever so slightly, but it still just can’t hit that spot were it’s great.

Episodes 2 and 3 are an encouraging start, and the new setting has promise, with plenty of possible character dynamics to explore. If you’re just here for zombies to leap out of the darkness and get their brains bashed in as graphically as possible, there’s plenty of that, too. Provided you’re not exhausted by the franchise at this point, you could do worse.

Fear of the Walking Dead is, at times, decidedly schlocky, but this time around, there’s a welcome emphasis on fleshing out the motivations and convictions of a new cast of characters who could become potential adversaries down the line.

The [season premiere] episode's plot feels like a Negan karaoke session, with a smirkishly predatory new antagonist (Daniel Sharman) holding the main characters captive. Things pick up in future episodes, as Fear's family joins a prepper community. [2/9 Jun 2017, p.96]
