I am a huge Walking Dead fan. It's funny because I only gave it a try because there was nothing else on T.V..and it became such and engrossing part of my television watching habits. It's funny because I only gave it a try because there was nothing else on T.V..and it became such and engrossing part of my television watching habits. Sundays are just not the same without it. When it is on hiatus, I just get saddened by how long I have to wait to continue the journey with the characters that I have grown to love. So, when I found out about this show and how it was going to be a different direction from the first, I immediately felt the urge to give it a try and not be so skeptical. That horror T.V can work. I am very happy to say that this show definitely pulls it's own weight. What I love most about this show is the different angle in which it is playing. The Walking Dead focuses on survival, whereas Fear the Walking Dead focuses on infection, and the outbreak which started it all, and how people are coming to terms with the chaos that is caused from it. It works. Very well. Because it becomes terrifying in a sense that WE as a viewer know what has happened and how to deal with certain scenarios or situations, but seeing as these characters are in the midst of the outbreak and not the aftermath, they are more vulnerable and oblivious to the dangers and how to face them effectively. And since this is the beginning of the outbreak, the zombies are more "fresh" and not so obvious of what they truly are, which heightens the intensity of the situations that occur on hand .The characters are all portrayed very well and the city is a welcome atmosphere as opposed to the countryside. People who are complaining about not having enough zombies are just ignorant to the fact that they just want the horror part of the story. That is just one part of it . There is a story being told and I am glad that the shows producers are not forgetting that. I would definitely give this show a chance. So far its a great opening to what we have come to know of this Universe and I am very eager to see where they take it . Bravo. Expand

It's a real shame that most people rate shows on a "0 or 10" scale. Most of the complaining I hear about this show stem from people wanting it to be more like TWD. Some of the characters make dumb choices, some are boring, and some are annoying. Viewers really seem to hate "realism" despite always screaming for it.

It's not perfect. I could gripe about the things I don't like, but they are minor when compared to the fact that I'm really enjoying watching how things progressed while Rick was in a coma. It offers nothing in the way of explaining the zombies (that's a good thing), but is showing really well how panic and mobs of humans actually paved the way for zombies to swoop right in and eat everyone.

If you want to enjoy this show, turn off your silly expectations about it being like TWD, and just watch while convincingly-real and flawed humans deal with a fast-moving crisis that no one seems to understand. It's easy for viewers to forget that these new characters don't have years of experience in the zombie world, so it just looks like some weird virus that makes people crazy and hard to kill.

Interesting premise that's kind of redundant because it isn't that much different than the original "Walking Dead". It is well acted and has some decent direction, although one can't help but wonder what would happen if the characters from the two series happen to eventually meet?

The series has grown as it progresses. Although arguably it started very shaky from castings who aren't particularly credible and the first pilot episode went about it wrong. Druggies who were having zombie fits was absolutely hilarious, knowing how quick they can turn.

The show's underlining horror theme tends to be more profound when the antagonist isn't some kind of cattle to be exploited, into how many more they can kill each episode in attempts to outbid their previous. Heck we can place odds on how many more will get slaughtered in each Walking Dead episode. A show that has lost some of it's way on who, or what the antagonist is.

I agree that this series needs all kind of improvement, the concept is some where out there, yet to be quite found, but it needs more to compete. I.E in the riot I want to see a riot from the rioters POV, not some supposed heroes in their bunker. pretending to be scared. Nobody should is bulletproof in the zombie apocalypse, please shock me, all men must die. If the militray starts making prison camps I want to see oppression. I want to see them shoot certain escapees, I want to see them violently restrain, possibly gun butting, forcing those people away, because they are as scared, but are more powerful. I want to see hysteria, panic, fear, blood and gore. I know they think that they are slowly building up, trying not to give much away., stretching out their air time. However this show will always be predictable, in order to combat that, throw more shocking terrifying horror in, not just some moody drama, or some supposedly horrific backgrounds. This from anything upon the start was always gonna be chesse.

I'll put a green light because I want this show to improve, despite of all of it's shakiness, making me cringe for fast-forwarding. I may bite these words, if all this show does is try to copy and paste, or just pretend..

FtWD is much better than I was expecting it to be when the side project was first announced. Good cast, great ambience, and the looming dread of it all knowing what's to come from viewing the parent series for the last 5 seasons. Good stuff.

Given that the zombie apocalypse is just kicking off at the start of this show, the actual number of zombie encounters is limited. The focus is more on drama rather than action. Here we get to watch the characters struggle as the world around them falls apart and they try to understand what is happening. It's tense in a different way. The drama and characters are well-written, even if stupid decisions are made from time to time.

The show looks fantastic. It's got darker lighting all around which gives it a more gothic feel. The zombies look amazing. The lack of decomposition makes them even creepier.

Walking Dead fans can take pleasure in a new chapter in this expanded universe and my fellow zombie fanatics can enjoy a story that takes place at the very start of it all. If you can forgive the typical goofy moments in the writing carrying over from the parent show as well as more of a focus on drama, then this is another Walking Dead show to enjoy.

Amazing character development so far, not so much meaningless action as TWD first episodes but hey thats TWD is for. Personally I prefer the approach this show is taking over just people you dont even know getting eaten all over the place. Also, Im sure we can expect plenty of that as the series builds and gets further into the breakout. 10/10

I think many people are upset because they wanted this show to be all action and zombies, but realistically, this show will probably revolve around humans and society falling into ruin as they try to survive. Yeah, zombies everywhere, but they are in a more densely populated area. There will be more conflict between survivors and people holding onto a civilization that no longer exists.

This show is exactly what I was expecting it would be.

I want to see the writers substantiate the origin of "the zombies" and why the walking dead must live on the blood of humans and not other mammals. We all know civilization collapses so why not invest some time in building upon the collapse? It certainly is scary enough to see such a disease spread through crack houses and perhaps the "fear" could be directed in a humanitarian view as a deterrent to drug abuse. It would certainly scare some people strait just seeing this.

However, I'm tired of seeing Los Angels and New York City as the setting for all TV and Motion picture productions and found the original series setting in the south great and refreshing in general. Most likely a pandemic would more likely originate in Areas of high population density and without adequate infrastructure. Those that experienced and survived super storm Katrina know all too well what happens when civilization collapses.

Sifting through the horror, guts, and blood, the opportunity presents itself to expand on how well FEMA is prepared to step in and hopefully slow down the collapse so we can see how well all the preppers living off grid will manage.
