    Yes, you’ve seen this story and its fairly flat and uninspired characters a million times before, but, as Hollywood teaches, sometimes a shiny surface is all you need.

    Admittedly, Famous in Love could’ve been worse, but there’s not enough here to actually love. This is not the next Pretty Little Liars. At least, not yet.

    Thorne is not awful on Famous in Love, but she's thoroughly miscast or misused because the show never forgets for a second that she's Bella Thorne, Disney Channel icon. ... A flatly acted, chemistry-lite Tinseltown Cinderella.

    Yes, it's a soap opera. But if this is "character driven," well, it's worth noting that none of the characters (or the situations) seem the least bit believable.

Lets just all agree right now that seeing Bella Thorne back in action is absolutely amazing. she has brought so much energy to the show and I personally love it. The love triangle with Jake Paige and Rainer is positively riveting, you never know who will end up with who. All the drama in the movie being filmed in the show makes Famous in Love even better, and not to mention all the drama going on behind the scenes of the movie; the heartbreak, the love, the excitement it all plays into the 10 rating I give this new TV show. Seeing all the familiar faces makes me nostalgic in the best kind of way.… Full Review »

    This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. I love a good teen drama, but this is not a good teen drama. Bella Thorne is fine as the lead actress, but so many of the other characters are so flat and I just don't care about them. Barret Hopper is unbelievably irritating I cheered when he was shot and killed., as are Tangey and her mother. Rainer is so very obviously based on Robert Pattinson that you'd have to be a moron not to notice it, but I also REALLY want him to get the girl, Jake is too much of a wet blanket. The characters of Paige, Alexis and Cassie are the only ones I care about. The others are all dull and uninteresting.… Full Review »
