May 28, 2016While the show itself might deserve a '6', the music is perfect. I love every single song from season 2. The plot has turned a little bit crazy and all, but all the characters are still great.

Oct 24, 2015absolutely adored the first 3 /4's of series one , then it slowly went downhill. The second series is just ridiculous. ranging from ridiculous scenes to poor acting. needless to say i wont be watching it.

Sep 23, 2015moving right along.. nothing to see here folks. just your stereotypical black tv series with an endless supply of product placements and of course the usual racism constantly being spat upon the viewer. awesome. just what the world needs in 2015... more corporate materialism and segregative race hating. NEXT.

Sep 28, 2015This is one amazing show. The writing is absolutely superb! They subtly tackle worldwide issues but also look into the little everyday issues that can affect a family, especially once money is involved. While I am not a big Terrance Howard fan, the rest of the acting crew is absolutely amazing. the musical original scores are definitely the best of any show on tv.

Sep 24, 2015"Empire" was the surprise hit of the winter, and I was excited to see what they'd do for season two. The problem with the premier is that everything seemed heightened in this episode, and not in a good way. I'd almost call it over-the-top. I hope it bounces back to form because I still believe in the show.

Sep 24, 2015It was incredible. Such a great premiere. I loved Cookie, she had so many great lines. I am really interested in the dynamics of the characters. That's the show I love.

Jul 1, 2016While the plot turns towards the over the top category, Empire is nevertheless a well acted, soapy show with fantastic music and interesting characters.

Oct 11, 2015Well acted for a show on FOX... intense storyline and decent music. I know a lot of people probably don't like the music, but for a show that gets this little production time, they nailed. Terrence Howard continues to impress me, and I can't wait to see what crazy stuff he initiates next.

Jan 27, 2016I don't know why but season 2 didn't feel as interesting as the first one. I must say that it doesn't mean that the series got bad but it fell a little bit. Let's hope for season 3 to be much better and go back to what it was.

Empire is back for Season 2, and it's just as good as it was in Season 1. So ... it's not particularly good at all. Just because it's a soap opera doesn't excuse bad writing. And 13 episodes into Empire, the plots are already repetitive and--quite frankly--boring.

Even the bits that backfire--like the ridiculous stunt casting of Chris Rock as a supposedly menacing prison drug lord00rarely diminish the glee with which we ride along on each hairpin curve. [28 Sep - 11 Oct 2015, p.16]

Empire is cynical and sincere, kidding and not kidding, dumb and smart, and to watch it is to be constantly amazed by what it gets away with.
