Nov 28, 2017The show is cute and I like the actresses. April Bowlby is so funny. The only thing I find irritating is the platitudes about being big & overweight. They could have made the show a bit smarter and less predictable that way.

As Deb-inside-Jane, Elliott does a great job portraying pathos, absurd disappointment, and wide-eyed discovery. She’s far more interesting to watch than the other characters.

Despite all this talent and potential, stereotypes about body image--fat and skinny--are layered on so thick that it's hard to see this show as changing anyone's minds.
