Remember the jokes Sonic makes in 06? Those jokes are funnier then every episode of this show. I mean come on! Really Ken Jeong? You were funny in "The Hangover". So whats your excuse for this mess?

I'm a great fan of comedy but this was just no. The supporting cast is a page out of tje the" how to make a stereotypical cast" 101 and ken teen daughter is yet another immaculate verson of how teens act. Seriously don't pull the race card on this one. If you want a Asian American family sitcom watch "fresh off the boat". This is just not what the doctor order.

Loved Ken Jeong in Hangover but in this TV show he just sucks, sorry. It won't make it another season. I am easy to please and I find a lot of things funny, but this show is annoying. Bad acting too....

I'm sure playing over the top characters as Ken Jeong does (Community, The Hangover) isn't all it's cracked up to be. I'm sure he gets tired of people walking up to him and shouting "toodle loo motherf___a!" but his attempt to play the role of the straight laced Dr. Ken is destined to be a monumental failure. Perhaps the deepest cut of all is the fact that it's based on his own life. Ouch.

Not funny at all. Acting is bad, story line is bad and everything else is bad. I watched the first episode and didn't even giggle once. I thought the show would be good but is horrible.

For the past month or so, my TiVo has been showing advertisements for this show on top of the recorded show I was watching. The advertisements appeared multiple times an hour. So I was wondering about the show, why so many advanced advertisements? Why interrupt my TiVo viewing with the blue Dr. Ken adverts? Was the show really so bad that it needed all those advertisements?

Well, after watching the pilot, I can safely say that the show was worse than I had thought. I feel sorry for the cast and crew of this show put their time and effort into it.

This show is probably one of the worst pilots I've ever watched....

When Dr. Ken is apologising to Stephen Tobolowsky in the pilot, I was half expecting him to turn to the camera and say "Yes, I know this show really sucks, but I got paid a lot of money to do this.", but that didn't happen. But who I am to judge, this is the guy who doesn't like "Big Bang Theory" (the "IT Crowd did is so much better), and this show may go on to greatness, but I will not be watching. Expand

Oh "Dr. Ken," how you try so hard to be funny and fail so miserably. Ken Jeong is funny, or has been in parts in movies and TV shows. But this show, where he's the lead and plays a doctor, isn't one of those times. The pilot was dull and sets up the series to be painful. This is a big miss.

Well, this horrible humourless 'thing' will be the first cancelled tv show of the season, by far. Dr. Ken is as terrible like any Disney Channel kids show, even worse.

What I learnt from this show is: Even though I like Ken Jeong, a comedy show with him is not a safe bet. Like, at all!
Yes, I like him, although his performances are usually over the top. He's been in shows/movies that were written well enough he could get away with it.
Not this one. I don't know how to say it in a polite way. It's bad, it really is. I tried again and again, every now

It's bad, it really is. I tried again and again, every now and then (that rhymes, I should sing it), but what I got was rarely funny. Call it stale, unoriginal, tired, it all winds up being: Not funny.

The show may have a strong link to Ken's own life, but if it is this unfunny, nobody should know about it.
Keep up the myth, bro! And I'm saying this the way Dr. Ken would say it, which is the way no one should say it.

I read that the show got renewed for another season. A true headscratcher. Makes you loose faith in mankind. I'll try not to think about it.
AFAIK it has a time slot before or after "Last Man Standing" with Tim Allen. Maybe there's where the magic lies. That show knows how to pander to a target audience. For five seasons! Well done Tim! And it helps Dr. Ken...sadly. You can help, people. Don't watch it.

Worst sitcom I have EVER seen. It is so bad, it's embarrassing and makes me cringe. I have not been able to watch an entire episode because it is just too awful to stomach. I feel really sorry for Ken Jeong! He can certainly do better than this un-funny show.

Why is this show so bad. I just can't for the life of me figure out how this show manages to waste all of its casts' talent. Ken Jeong is a funny guy, but this is just sooooo bad.

Bad show thats not even very funny. Trying too hard make an immoral politcal statement rather than a representation of the real work place. Not worth the time to watch.

Jeong, however, is still too much of a standup comedian, belting out punchlines and pratfalls like a machine-gun to drown out the heckler in the back, to sustain Dr. Ken beyond sketch-level comedy. And he's too manic (a self-proclaimed "five-foot-five inches of fury") to allow for much help from the rest of the cast.

Even in an especially bad season for new shows, the multi-camera sitcom Dr. Ken stands out as uncomfortable, unfunny, and forgettable.

The show’s other players gently orbit Jeong’s bright star and are sometimes scorched by his flares of humor in an otherwise formulaic sitcom with its canned laughter and bright, uniformly lit set.
