Yet another show where the concept overwhelms story and character. Result: bad dialogue, bad acting, and characters you don't give a damn about. Waste of time.

I would echo aslanmane's criticisms of this new series. I wanted to like this, but it fails in so many fundamental ways, unless you're into full rear nudity, ugh. And there's so much kissy romancing that you wonder if you're watching a daytime soap dressed up for night. It's just poor execution, pass. Expand

This is just poorly written to begin with. Terrible dialog, poorly developed new language, inconsistent world building. It seems SyFy is doubling down on the Defiance formula, which is a shame. Two terrible tentpole series.

It is far too camp but takes itself too seriously, a combination that doesn't work. From Dusk Till Dawn was camp and cheeky, and ran with it. This mess however, is

It is far too camp but takes itself too seriously, a combination that doesn't work. From Dusk Till Dawn was camp and cheeky, and ran with it. This mess however, is just the wrong combination of ridiculous and mediocre, suffering from an identity crisis. If this were Kings (where Christopher Egan was also the lead, and which also had biblical inspiration) the soap opera elements would work, but they were just not able to pull it off here.

The acting: I'm not really sure whether it's bad acting or just lazy directing. They seem lost and painted in broad strokes (so to speak) and seem like bit parts in a high school production aka Eragon (zing! Christopher Egan also appears in that one). There seems to be a "let's wing it" attitude towards the characters in this show.

The actor playing Michael must have realized that this is a ridiculous show, and is just dying inside every time he has a scene. Otherwise, he would follow Tom Mison's (Sleepy Hollow) and Stephen Amell's (Arrow) lead and fully embrace the character, warts and all.

    Lens flare.

What is with the ending; torches burning on the walls of a stone temple. What is this the 1980's, when people still found Indiana Jones cool?

    Utterly disappointed.

Very flashy production with the wrong title. I would have entitled this thing -- Angelnado. Is there supposed to be some religious allegory here? Or maybe this is a political allegory about dictators and democracy. Or maybe it's just crap. If God wanted to destroy the human race, God would destroy the human race. No angel's required. Period. This show undermines the greatest hero in history, and leaves "angels" to do his dirty work for Him. If you want something done right...and more entertaining...DO IT YOURSELF.

This is bad: so bad in fact, the combination of terrible acting, "plot" and theme can't drag the resultant mess into the light of campy fun.
While Defiance at least has interesting people and development, this doesn't even bother, it's the first SyFy show in a long time that has nothing at all going for it.
Except Anthony Head attempting an American accent: that's quite funny.

When I read this was based on the movie Legion I had hope that this would be semi-decent.
My hopes were dashed terribly by the inept storytelling, bad acting, uselessly ugly effects and powerfully silly Anthony Head with an American Accent.
I'm not in the mood to go into how bad this series is, it's just too bad for me to even try and explain. This is a sign that the Syfy channel needs

Legion was a good movie, perfect cast and great story line. The show Dominion is stupid, it could of been so much better if the writers sticked to the original story line.

It's a lot of exposition to get through, and that's just what writer Vaun Wilmott and director Scott Stewart, the latter of whom also worked on "Legion," do--they get through it, with way too much talking and not nearly enough bodies exploding into acid.

When Dominion isn’t preoccupied with filling in its portentous back story, it provides some capably filmed action and a higher grade of acting than usual for this kind of show.

SyFy routinely demonstrates that today’s tricks have gotten too easy, which is why Dominion feels like it is unintentionally telling a separate story of a world in which humanity is held captive by quickie CGI.
