I got to say at first glance this just looks like another family Christmas movie but let me tell ya it is much much more not only was the movie charming funny and sweet but teaches young and old about the value of being better to give than receive and seeing things threw other people's prospective just a wonderful lesson taught by a wonderful lady .little Dolly is a little firecrackerI got to say at first glance this just looks like another family Christmas movie but let me tell ya it is much much more not only was the movie charming funny and sweet but teaches young and old about the value of being better to give than receive and seeing things threw other people's prospective just a wonderful lesson taught by a wonderful lady .little Dolly is a little firecracker sure to delete with her smart aleck attitude and hilarious comebacks the whole Parton family are a good example of the spirit of Christ and Christmas this is a true present from Dolly to the world what a wonderful movie fits just right for Christmas time I say watch it even if you think it's old-fashioned or too preachy for your taste watch it anyway u will be delighted that you desided too Expand

To the extent it works, credit the cast (including Gerald McRaney as Dolly's minister grandpa) and some of the little touches in Pamela K. Long's script, like Dolly's first brush with indoor plumbing.

It's all predictable, syrupy and--at times--just downright stupid. Among the worst moments is the appearance of Parton herself.

The movie doesn't always take itself seriously. ... But with its dual messages of "hold your families close" and "always be kind," Dolly Parton's Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love is ultimately as sweet as the Whitman's Sampler the Parton kids get to dive into.
