Season 1 Review: Cuarón’s scripts, by contrast [to "Fleishman Is in Trouble"], are rootless and simplistic, and Blanchett’s chilly, patrician protagonist merely recalls the actor’s more layered performances in superior projects like “Tár” and “Mrs. America.” Bizarre, affectless second-person narration describes the scenes we’re already watching or provides only the most insipid exposition.
