The animation style is fantastic and perfectly captures how you would imagine the universe would be in an anime format. Dante seems totally unmatched by every enemy which leads to very anti-climatic fights... One or two slashes and a few bullets seems to do the trick with everything. Characters are good in the most part, my personal favourite being the Sid. Sid is a lesser demon who pops up all over the place causing chaos and destruction to the city. The ladies of the anime series Trish and Lady are in my opinion the best characters as they provide great "ports" from the games. The new character Patty is refreshing due to her constant digs at Dante's habits and traits which is a far cry to the enemies of the anime series that couldn't even bother to pick on him. The story lacked a true villain such as the likes of Vergil or Mundus who never appeared or got a mention in the series which felt was a shame, given their strong dominating personalities. Overall, without spoilers the story didn't seem to have a chronological order, you could watch any episode without having seem the others and follow the story. This could be seen as a positive to some people but for me is was overwhelming negative as I wanted to see a Devil May Cry story that could not have been seen in a game and I thought this was to much like a broken up game rather than an anime "series" indicating a flow between episodes. I would suggest watching this if you are a fan of the series to see what you think !!… Expand
