As I said with Borat 2, through the absurdity of satire is that some deign to pay more attention, and this is what this little project from the creators of Black Mirror does.

However it's only a recap of the events of this year through satire, and yet it never hits the mark, because in this year, satire already exists in the real life events. Trump is a clown, but in the most extreme

Trump is a clown, but in the most extreme joke, he's the president of the United States.
People's ignorance with all their conspiracies is pure comedy, but it's also tremendously dangerous as they don't realize that they are as radicalized as the "Muslim terrorists" that terrifies them.
They criticize the ''influencers'' but consume all their content voraciously.
We criticize social media for their power, but we eagerly give them access to all of our information, because we are ''social animals''
And the list goes on, and on, in everything this project mentions.

The joke, it's us, and this year just highlighted it.
And if there's one thing about all of this that I really agree on, it's what Leslie Jones' character says: ''In my professional opinion we are **** imbeciles''.

This is so cringe. It feels like a daily show sketch stretched to an absurd degree and none of the jokes are very clever or interesting. Just bottom of the barrel 2020 jokes.

It’s all incredibly banal and deeply uninspired. ... Brooker achieves something close to meaningful commentary on the year only when he and the rest of the writers stop cracking tired jokes and allow the absurdity of the year’s images to speak for themselves.

The streamer’s bitingly funny, hastily assembled and slightly deranged comedic retrospective lampoons the worst year ever.

Death to 2020 is a limp, unimaginative recap of a year that surely few viewers need help remembering.
