    Dave Burd's sophomore season has weak dick. It's almost like this season is an allegory for his nonexistent album. The co-stars are the only one that help this series along. Santino is excellent.

    The show honestly feels like a bait n switch in between the first and second season. The subtlety and smartness laced with the humor of the first season is now a slog through episodes of never ending force fed crap pretending to be gold. I keep waiting for the season to really get going but its more of the same.     I was so surprised by Dave last season, that last scene at the end of the first episode was so much fun it hooked me, and I was delighted by pretty much all of last season. These first two episodes of this season were pretty much a bummer, Dave's a real jerk, and there wasn't enough actual hip hop to keep me entertained. Got the feeling moreso that it's a lesser ATLANTA, than a fresh newI was so surprised by Dave last season, that last scene at the end of the first episode was so much fun it hooked me, and I was delighted by pretty much all of last season.     Season 2: Massive Let Down
    nce I was done with the first season, I had really high hopes for following seasons. Unfortunately Season 2 completely sucks, like big time. Depressing, nothing interesting happens and it's just horrible. It is also very weird and he's lowkey coming out of the closet (not that there's anything wrong with this, just stop hiding and do it).     Season one was awesome. Such an entertaining show with actual real humor and could easily binge all episodes. Amazing appearances also, JBieber, Marshmallow, the show was really good.    … Expand

    It’s hard to knock a show that strives for sophistication while thumbing its nose at the very idea of sophistication itself. Dave – and Dave – is a maddening muddle, but one with serious talent.

    Dave is nothing if not a show for a very specific taste. It’s too smart to be labeled sophomoric, and while it’s packed with really great acting and a lot of heart, it’s also entirely common and accurate to use the word “weird” to describe it. But, like Dave himself, that’s part of its charm.
