Great acting, set design and gripping story. Bingeworthy series, and will likely pick up the comic it’s based on.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I don’t understand why people think this show is so terrible. Sure it’s not absolutely the best. The first episode was very slow and not the best but you just need to keep watching. After the first few episodes I started loving it. By far favorite character is Merlin, the actor who plays him is amazing, I loved his funny moments. But also his moments were he was only trying to protect his daughter. I wish he gotten a lot more screen time and also I kept itching for more moments between Nimue and Merlin. I will say that Nimue and Arthur together just doesn’t work, I don’t know why but they have no chemistry. I think some things weren’t explained enough, but I’m hoping for a season two where some things are explained. Some people say they don’t even explain or show how Nimue is cursed but it actually does. She’s gets marked by the bear who was basically a demon clawing her back, and now she has that scar and that’s how she’s supposedly cursed with evil. I wanted to see more Nimue’s powers and also wanted to more of Merlins. But in the final moments of the finale Merlin’s powers were definitely shown and it was worth the wait. Sometimes the acting could be better on some people, and the CGI isn’t always the best but I don’t think that means it’s terrible. I think the writing isn’t bad at all, I love this whole take on the Arthurian Legend, and how intriguing all this magic and all these legends are in the show in a new way. Really hoping for a second season because I need more Merlin and to see what happens to Nimue.… Expand

Fantasy dalla scrittura mediocre e a tratti scarsa, cast quasi del tutto discreto eccetto per qualche eccezione, sia in positivo che in negativo, doppiaggio in italiano eccellente e comparto grafico/artistico ottimo, tuttavia questo due aspetti non riscattano la banalità della serie

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This show is definitely watchable but its very forgettable. Katherine Langford doesn’t feel like a good lead role in this one. Shes plays Nimue who has abilities and wields a powerful sword. My complaints with this are she doesn’t feel like a good fit. One reason is that almost every action scene shes in its feels slow and almost as every person or thing she fights is play fighting with her. It didn’t convince me this girl had any real abilities, just that everyone she fights is an idiot who lets her win. Another huge complaint is the visuals on this show, they were horrendous. Almost every fight ended with fake blood splattering around. One particular scene had her fighting against wolves which was hard to watch because the visuals were just horrible. It also didn’t feel like the wolves actually wanted to eat her more like they were there so she could show off her nonexistent skills. They did a common theme we see in movies with the wolves taking turns and it just wasn’t in the slightest entertaining. The plot seems kinda basic nothing special. The acting was good enough for you to be entertained without rolling your eyes. Overall I think this show could have potential they just need to fix the visuals make the fighting look better and maybe take out some of the virtue-signaling that seems to be very common among recent movies. I think anyone can at least enjoy parts of this series but will probably need to be drunk to get through it.… Expand

The King Arthur Legend with a female lead?
Of course! So we get this one to cross off our list, too.
The setup isn't too bad, Katherine Langford is ok as Nimue, the lead character. In the beginning she's depicted as powerful but her powers and their limits are never really established. SoThe King Arthur Legend with a female lead?

In the beginning she's depicted as powerful but her powers and their limits are never really established.
So sometimes, when in danger, she doesn't or can't use her powers and sometimes she does/can, depending most likely on what the script writers want to happen next.

Another thing: If you want a female lead and the story is about a magic sword,
how about you cast an actress that can actually wield a sword?
Langford couldn't convince me for a second that she can win any fight with that sword.
And the fight with the wolves...cringe worthy.

Which brings me to the special effects. Yes, it looks like they didn't have a big budget for CGI, but they could have used it more cleverly. But they didn't and some effects look really bad.

With regard to the rest of the cast, only Gustaf Skarsgård stood out as Merlin.
Even though Merlin is depicted as a drunk, Skarsgård balanced out the characters weaknesses to have him somewhat likeable.
Father Garden and King Uther were convincing enough as villain and rivals to get hold of the sword.
But the ones that should have made an impression are Arthur and Gawain, but they were totally bland and not contributing anything substantial to the plot.
They serve as good people to talk to, to give advice and for the female lead to make love to.
I don't blame the actors. The script simply doesn't give them enough to do.

Fallen victim to the woke agenda, they aren't allowed to be strong and forceful, only the women are.
Male villains, of course, are allowed to be strong and dangerous, and show all that 'tocthic mathculinity". That's their reason of being.

The season's finale is surprising, but not in a good way.
They were going for a massiv cliffhanger, I guess, but the last scenes feel totally off.

To wrap it up, 'Cursed' is for people who need a regular dose of fantasy fare and who aren't picky about it.
My main complaints about it are the lead's arbitrary use of her powers, her lame sword fighting, the arbitrary plot development, the pushing of the woke agenda and the lack of memorable characters that aren't villains.

I don't know about you, but to me, that's too many complaints for it to be a good show.… Expand

I love swords & magic. Dunno why but I dig shows & stories bout it so i should of dug this. But God awful acting with an even more God awful script...like really really gargantuanly terrible script just made me switch off half way through.
