    Watching Conversations With A Killer: The Son Of Sam Tapes is a bit of a frustrating experience because you just want to hear from Berkowitz, not get a rehash of a case that has been in media and pop culture for close to a half-century. But the interview with Berkowitz is fascinating enough to keep us watching despite the frustration.

    Transforming a nearly 50-year-old true-crime story into a thriller isn’t easy, but director Joe Berlinger injects new life and atmosphere into a virtual urban legend that has the one element essential to any mythic mystery: The murders cannot be explained. .... The Berkowitz contribution to this three-part series is less about illumination or even tension than it is outright weirdness.
